Did it ever occur to Mr. Putin that maybe the Ukranian people got sick and tired of their corrupt government?

Whenever ancient Chinese empire suffered a setback, standard Confucian advice to the Emperor was "you ought to be perfecting your rule". But then, China has a long tradition of civilization.

The story is now sourced. I see nothing about a court order banning publication of the story (although I know that Israel will censor news for national security purposes so it is not inconceivable a court ruled on the issue already and let the story go forward).

To our resident pan-slavists...

Yes, clearly it was a Jewish plot to dismember Holy Mother Russia.

Putin blames even Israel now?? Moscow claimed previously that Yushchenko is anti-Semite!! Nice to know that Israel aided Ukrainian anti-Semites. :-) Is not Putin pitiful?

Oh the beam in Putins eye. Putin spent $200 million on the loser, why then shouldn't Israel spend money on Yuschenko? Did Putin think everyone was going to run away and just let him fake the election in the Ukraine. This guy is becoming a bigger loser by the day.

I've long wondered how on Earth Russia/Magog would ever come up with justification for the coming invasion of Israel.

Perhaps that's the reason a scapegoat is needed.

"According to the report on Channel 2"

Channel 2 is a private televison channel in Israel but it's like Debka television.

But according to Channel 2, Israel is now upgrading a sophisticated weapons system for the Chinese and has not informed the Pentagon about it. Quoting Israeli sources, Channel 2 reported Wednesday that the system, which was not identified, has been returned to Israel for repair and maintenance.

"According to the report on Channel 2"

Channel 2 is a private televison channel in Israel but it's like Debka television.

That's entertainment: It has been so long since the Press Council did anything relevant that even its false teeth have fallen out

The media has lately come in for harsh criticism for its behavior in a number of high-profile cases. One instance involved the murder of District Court Judge Adi Azar on July 19. Immediately after the killing - the first of a judge in Israel - the media began to float various and sundry rumors about the judge's private life, with some catapulted into banner headlines, as if they disclosed actual facts.

When the murder suspects were eventually arrested, it emerged that the judge's private life had absolutely nothing to do with his murder and the rumors proved to be lies.

In an interview with the press, Bilhat Azar, the judge's widow, said: "Adi was murdered twice: Once by the assassin's bullets and a second time by the vicious rumors," (Yediot Aharonot, December 2, 2004).

A second case involved the suicide of Public Works Department engineer Yitzhak Herscovitch following the airing of a defamatory report on Channel 2 news (Nov. 19, 2004). Herscovitch was accused of mismanagement involving fatal road accidents caused by poor roads.

Broadcast in the middle of the trial against Herscovitch and others, it could have affected the outcome. The next day, Herscovitch killed himself. His widow Nitza said, "They [Channel 2 News] pulled the trigger and we will not give in to them."

The most recent case involved Channel 2's investigative program Fact about the killing of a 13-year-old Palestinian girl by the IDF near an outpost in Rafah.

The company commander was subsequently indicted for illegally using his weapon. The bottom line of the report was to point an accusing finger at him and a number of his soldiers.

Perhaps not coincidentally the report was aired while legal proceedings were being held against the officer, just as in Herscovitch's case. The program infuriated Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Moshe Ya'alon, who described it as "a lying, tendentiously edited report," and presented examples of the fabricated evidence, such as when the soldiers in the outpost are shown seemingly celebrating after the girl was killed - using footage of a perfectly innocent party on an entirely different occasion. (The Channel 2 scumbags made up the story about an Israeli soldier and his men murdering a Palistinian girl for ratings)

Judge Azar's widow accused the media of character assassination. Engineer Herscovitch's widow accused Channel 2 News of "pulling the trigger" that killed her husband. The chief of staff accused Fact of tendentiousness, lying and fabrication of evidence.

The men suspected of murdering Azar will be punished if found guilty. Engineer Herscovitch killed himself and the company commander will be punished if found guilty.

But what about the media? If the accusations against it are true, will those responsible pay?

IN ALL three cases, the ones responsible - the editors and reporters - maintained that everything was as it should be, that the reports were carefully examined before airing or publication in accordance with accepted journalistic criteria.

Perhaps. But then again, perhaps not.

Why should we accept the editors' word at face value?

Let's see what happens in identical cases in other situations. Lets say an operational accident with fatalities occurs in the IDF. The media accuses and criticizes. The army responds that everything was proper, that everything was done by the rules. How would the media react? Would they accept the army's - or anyone else's - word at face value?

What the media would say in such a case was that everything may have been handled properly; but that is why an investigation should be held - to bring all the facts to light.

THE APPLE (KGB/DICTATOR PUTIN) DOESN'T FALL FAR FROM THE TREE

Taken from "We Are The Next Target" (for those who want to read the whole report type the title into the FR search engine and select "Match All Words").

When Karl Marx wrote his book, "A World Without Jews," he permanently set the tone for Communist anti-Semitism. He called for "the emancipation of mankind from Judaism" and for the end of all religious faith.[59] V. I. Lenin applied this principle against the Jewish longing for Israel in 1903, declaring that "this Zionist idea is absolutely false and essentially reactionary."[60]

The Communist drive to abolish Judaism took on a special urgency after World War I, when Jewish settlement in Palestine began interfering with Communist plans for a socialist, pan-Arab government. Over the next few decades, the Communists instigated Arab riots against Jews and organized anti-Zionist movements.[61] These tactics failed, and the nation of Israel was reborn in 1948.
