A poor-but-well-respected lawyer died, so his colleagues took up a collection to pay for his funeral. One of them went to a local businessman to ask for a donation.
"Sir, can you spare five dollars for a worthy cause?"
"Maybe - what's the cause?"
"To bury a lawyer."
"Here's $100 - bury twenty of 'em."

I was watching Russia get freer as we got more authoritarian, and I was viewing Russia as a possible place to emigrate to if it got too crazy here.
Putin has put the kabosh on that as an option, though.

They were arrested by "court officers." Most bailiffs (they don't want to be called that any more) I've had contact with are total suck-ups to judges and lawyers.
