With this win, Pittsburgh is tied for second (with New England) for consecutive wins in a season (15). Only the Dolphins have more(17).
If you look at the stats, Pittsburgh has more passing yards, more running yards and longer time of possession. Pennington had 1 passing yard more than Roethlisberger. But it was ugly, and we were lucky!

When a guy misses two shots like that, it ain't luck.

On the other hand the Falcons are downright impressive. First time I saw them play and while the talking heads are downplaying the chances of an NFC team winning, they looked like contenders. They do a lot of things very well.
For the Colts fans out there, weather in Foxboro expected to be 28 degrees with light snow.

I was a true squeaker. Im not actually a Steelers fan, but I do prefer them over the New York? Jets who play in New Jersey.

We won and the bottom line is that we won. All the stats favored the Steeler's or were exceptionally close. I think NYJ had 1 more yard passing. The Jets offense was horrible. It made ours look spectacular. All the Jets could muster was 3 points and them announcers kept saying how bad Big Ben played. Well, Chad Pennington wasn't a heck of a lot better since he only put up three points. In fact the Jets haven't scored a touchdown against us on offense in something like 14 quarters! Everybody is all over the kid at quarterback but i think for a rookie he did ok. Plus, he didn't get rattled.
I will say this though about the announcers. They did mention that Big Ben donated his entire games check to the tsunami victims.

Looks like the Yankees have passed on their playoff collar.

My impression of the game:
Rothlisberger had a terrible game,
as did the Steeler's defense. Both will have to improve
for the Steelers to advance.

from ESPN.com -- CBS suggested Roethlisberger injured his right thumb in pregame warmups. Turns out he didn't, but that was a distraction. So was the glove on his right hand. Though this was his fifth game in gloves, he had some difficulty with his grip with the glove and it threw off his throws.
Then whats he wearing them for? Throw those gloves in the Allegheny River! If he does everything will be okal-dokal, and that aint no garganzola.

But it was ugly, and we were lucky! I turned off the sound and watched every play in the game without distraction from announcers and commercials.
What amazed me about the game was the Jets offense didn't score a point and yet the Jets could have won the game if either of two kicks go through. (The scoring was done this way, 5 points by kickers, 6 points on a kick return, and 6 points on an interception return. Not one running or passing touchdown in the game for the Jets. - Tom

As a Giants fan, after watching some of these QBs the last few weeks: Brees, Pennington, and Big Ben (3 times: vs. Giants, Jets twice), I'm feeling pretty good about Eli.
Ben's good, but he's not exactly zipping the ball in there. Not to take anything away from his great rookie season, but he just hasn't made me say wow when I've seen him. Let's see him vs. Belichik and the Pats defense next week.
But the Jets have a real problem with Pennington. He stinks. Smart guy, great vision, the best at deception and the play/action, but he simply can't throw. Nor is he mobile enough to evade the simplest pressure.
A bad combo. After watching McNabb, Vick, Culpepper -guys who can zip it in there, flatfooted, in a hurry... and escape the pocket to buy time and make sonething happen, you need to be able to do at least ONE of those things.
Jet fans will say Chad's hurt, that he's playing through pain, but I don't think that's the real problem.
Think about it... he had the best rushing attack in the league (Curtis, LaMont), a great O-Line (Mawae, McKenzie, etc.) and great receivers who get open a lot (Santana Moss, McCariens, Cotchery).
But they couldn't score points. Now why was that?

Steelers dominated the field, but turnovers nearly cost them the Game.
Hopefully they'll play better next week.
They definately have the talent to take it all, but if they make stupid mistakes like this past week, they won't make it.
