Two friends of the men accused of killing Fairfield University football star Mark Fisher were charged with witness tampering yesterday for trying to scare a witness by alluding to a mob-style whacking on "The Sopranos," prosecutors said.
Assistant District Attorney Anna-Sigga Nicolazzi told a Brooklyn judge the pair were members of a tight-knit group called the "Ghetto Mafia" and were trying to hinder the ongoing investigation into the gridiron star's murder in October 2003.
Basically, they picked up an individual and made a very clear reference to an episode of 'The Sopranos' where a witness cooperating with authorities was taken up to the country and killed," Nicolazzi said.

They suck people in with the weird nicknames (Paulie Walnuts?) and portraying a group who live by a very twisted and totally unacceptable ethical standard. The show serves as a vent for frustrated people who'd love to get away with what those characters do. That's a healthy thing.

This senseless murder shows why capital punishment is needed. Put down the mutts.
