Oh, the field day the headline writers must have had with this one. I'm sure they couldn't wait to come up with just the right words to stir up hatred and suspicion against people of faith. They choose "rigid"....playing into the Churchlady stereotype. Yeah, that's the ticket......

All the sudden the MSM has noticed that some churchgoers have closely held beliefs. And, lo and behold, they are daring to speak of them. Why, this never happens with non-churchgoers or the likes of Michael Newdow.....they would never be accused of "pushing their beliefs on others."

Churchgoers More Rigid? This got me confused with the other thread about Viagra being good for your heart!

Yeah, the freaks at Reuters were probably cackling their humanist asses off when using descriptives like 'anal', 'pious', 'holier-than-thou', 'intolerant', 'fascist', and all the other sniveling bilge they spout before they settled on 'rigid'. Screw 'em.

Heard that, ma'am.

The fact that the MSM thinks that this is some sort of new phenomenon is fascinating to me. I haven't changed, and none of "the folks" out here in the heartland have, either, as I see it. They just recently noticed that we exist, apparently.

If instead the poll had found that they tended to favor gun control, then the headline would have found churchgoers getting more "socially conscious".

It depends on where you go.

At humanistic teaching churches, they'll go along with everything. Bible based ... that's another story. We're getting sick and tired of having a horrendous agenda shoved down our throats and like the left, we are letting them know what WE think of the left and standing up for our rights for a change.

More likely that they understand that those are the 10 Commandments not the 10 Suggestions.

Strangely, I saw a program today on PBS (of all places) lauding people of faith. It was a documentary on the Jewish chidren in the Netherlands who survived the Holocaust after being taken in by Catholic and Protestant families...how they risked the lives of their own families to defend others in need...how they stood up to evil.

I think it was a Canadian production because according to the documentary, the fabulous Canadian military liberated Europe from the Nazi's

along with the allies

They mean like objecting to having your daughter given birth control by the perverts that run our public school systems.

I'm a church goer, and I'd like to cick the butt of a lot of politicians in the West that keep telling me that because we are tolerant and becuase of human rights and democracy I must accept:

1. Gay Marriage
2. Feminism
3. Job Descrimination
4. Crime
5. Lower Income
6. Premarital Sex, Drugs, Non-respect
7. Less Security
8. Islamic invasion of my culture.
9. Governmental incompetence
10. Lower standards in education, industry, government

I don't think so and I hope more of us are going to start kicking butt.

Yes, Newdow and Michael Moore and the Follywood libs and Barbara Boxer and Ted "The Swimmer" Kennedy etc etc are certainly not rigid and don't push their beliefs on others, do they? It is amazing that these pathetic lib papers don't see the ridiculous position they've put themselves in.

At the same time, those polled said they were growing bolder about pushing their beliefs on others, even risking offending people.

Well, considering the way religious people have been treated over the last 30 years, I'm surprised it took this long for them to start pushing back, even in such a mild way.
