A very bad neighborhood, yet stupid yuppies still try and party there. I grew up on the east side of Manhattan and people's willingness to travel on the lower east side in the dead of night has always baffled me.

She was victim of Giulianitis. Too young to remember the cesspool that NYC was in the 1970's-80's. The street smarts that were necessary to navigate the streets then are out of style. The city can revert back as fast as it was resuscitated by Rudy.
