(2005-01-31) -- Sen. John Kerry. D-MA, said today that history will judge Sunday's landmark election in Iraq as an "utter failure for George W. Bush if the U.S. cannot find a way to give al Qaeda and other disenfranchised so-called 'terror' groups a voice in Iraq's new government."
"We use that word 'terrorist' to marginalize and demonize people whose way of expressing ideas is culturally different from ours," said Mr. Kerry. "But when a man takes up the scimitar to behead an innocent civilian, or straps on the exploding vest for a walk through the marketplace, he's just passionately stating his philosophy. Who are we to judge his methods?"
Mr. Kerry, who told NBC's Tim Russert that he's "keeping his options open" for another failed run for the White House in 2008, denied Republican accusations that he's on the "wrong side of history" in his opposition to Bush administration efforts to bring freedom to the Middle East.
"How can they say I'm on the wrong side of history?" he asked rhetorically. "I'm speaking out against Bush blunders in Iraq, and I plan to vote for another $80 billion to fund the blundering. You tell me which side of history I'm on."
dammnit, any parody involving Kerry should have a SATIRE alert. Its so hard to tell the diff these days :)
Dang! At the last minute, I noticed the "scrappleface" source.
It's getting so bad that I can't tell fact from fiction with this guy!
He's a blundering-funder of the first degree.
Trying to determine which side of history Kerry is on is an exercise in the misapplication of the laws of physics. Rather than apply the general theory, one needs to look at the quantum aspects. Kerry is a quark and black holes are his spacial domain.
It's believeable. The left is becoming a terror support network.
I agree with you, Izzy. I thought it was true also and was working myself up into a frenzy, ready to lambaste Kerry again.
This is as believable as what he said on MTP yesterday. He openly hoped for disaster in the coming days. I would like to ask Kerry in front of a camera: "You said during your campaign you had a plan for ending the violence and bloodshed in Iraq. Why have you sat and watched so many more soldiers and civilians die in the conflict without sharing your plan. Is that not part of your duty as a Senator?"
LOL - Kerry has become a parody of himself; a running joke.
Both John Kerry and Teddy Kennedy who have been ranting and raving lately gives question as to whether this post above is satire or truth. My vote is on the side of truth. These two guys and their entire Democrat Party are both traitors and guilty of treason against the United States of America!!! With their continued rantings they are now directly responsible for enabling and encouraging Muslim terrorists to kill and injure USA millitary personnel. The good voters of Massachusetts should move to immediately kick them out of office!!!
rebeltex got it right...
I'll vote for the $80 billion before I'll vote against it.
Sheesh! Ya' almost had me believin' that one!
Given that Sadr's group participated in Iraq's elections and stands to gain seats in the National Assembly, it does appear that terrorists are being included in the process, so I don't understand Kerry's beef.
LOL.. thanks for the laugh. :o)
It's just like him.
You are correct but it will never happen in Mass.
I lived in Mass for 20 years and they kept voting the same perps back in.
Extremely Liberal and probably stay that way... I thought there might be some hope since Republican is voted as governor but both houses are Liberal and seems to never change and the people of Mass keep voting the same one in over and over.
Happy to have left that state to a more freedom loving state of NH but now there seems to be a mass exodus of Mass people into NH and they seem to want to change the face of NH into Mass.
Watch out, Iraq! Your next move is to develope your own versions of Carville and Begala.
My thought, too!
Scary, I actually didn't doubt the headline.
