Chatigny should be impeached. This is disgusting.
Hmmmm ... "I'm going to die in a few hours, then I'm not going to die, repeated over and over. Hey, I'm being tortured and therefore deserve clemency." Is that the plan at work here?
My prayers go out to the victim families, who must be enduring terrible agony as these twists and turns of judicial madness unfold.

I would just love to see that Klintoon-appointed judge be impeached. But it will never happen.
Some of you know that Ross murdered Dzung Tu, my college roommate. Dzung's brother and I drove up to the prison on Friday night, arriving at 1:20 am. Her brother drove 7 hours straight from DC. We were told that the execution had been postponed. We were shaking. This judge has been reprimanded by the Supreme Court and the federal judges on the appeals court last week.
I believe that Chatigny is off the case. He says he is not familiar with the case but thinks that Ross shouldn't have been convicted. I can only imagine the agony the families must feel, cause I feel pretty sad myself.
Serial killer Michael Ross today will move to halt his execution and go to court to put to rest concerns about his mental competence that have led to frenzied appeals and five execution dates in six calendar days.
He is scheduled to die by lethal injection at 9 p.m. It's now likely that there will be no execution for at least a month.

Don't forget about that 'ambulance chaser' (Paulding) - he's gotta squeeze more too.
Actually Paulding is being torn apart by this. The idiot judge Chatigny, basically told Paulding that if he continued to do what Ross wanted him to do, Chatigny would have Paulding disbarred, Ross wants to die and Paulding was representing him legally in his quest to die. Chatigny stuck his nose in it to force Paulding to go against his clients wishes and delay the execution. Paulding is getting screwed.
It's the families and friends of the victims who are getting screwed by this sick scumbag Chatigny.
He is generally screwing everybody.
The impeachment of Judge Chatigny should proceed forthwith. After his rebuff by the SCOTUS, Judge Chatigny bullied Ross' attorney by threatening his livlihood. Such extrajudicial coercion is improper and probably illegal. The defense attorney was cowed, the fiat of the Supreme Court negated, the findings of the trial court, its jury, and all subsequent rulings about the righteousness of this verdict and sentence have been cast aside by this arrogant judge. His "personal" position regarding the death penalty has been permitted to hold sway over precedent and law. Chatigny thus disgraces the bench by his wanton disregard for the victims' families and the legitimate power of the Connecticut legislature. Don't those long suffering souls deserve a measure of justice? Do not the lawmakers and governor rate some respect by the Court. In the zealotry of his elitist and myopic crusade, he direspects the will of the people themselves.

MAHONY Courant Staff Writers Top legislative Republicans in Hartford Wednesday asked a congressional committee to investigate what they called "a grievous example of judicial misconduct" by Chief U.S. District Judge Robert N. Chatigny - whose actions last week led to the postponement of serial killer Michael Ross' execution.
"We strongly urge your committee to investigate the matter fully, and to commence proceedings to redress this misconduct, including the [judge's] possible removal from office," state Republican General Assembly leaders wrote in a letter to U.S. Rep. F. James Sensenbrenner Jr., R-Wis., chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.
