I hate advice like this -- it just gives a green light to armed robbers.

If they are armed, and you are not, comply. Unless they attempt to get you to move from the initial crime scene. NEVER do that. Let them shoot you where you stand. Don't go in the walk-in freezer, don't let them make you get in a car. Your odds of surviving go way down at crime scene #2.

There's something called "street smarts"....you either have it or you don't..if you don't have it..you have NO business wandering around a deserted part of lower Manhattan, inebriated, at 3 am in the morning..
