All one has to do to obtain his service record is mail his name to : National Military Records Center (Army), 9700 Page Blvd, St. Louis, MO:
The name: Ward L. Churchill, followed by his DOB: 10-02-47,
followed by his dates of service claimed: 11-16-66 to 11-1-68.
Sometimes they respond with a form: why do you want this? (Answer: History Research) But more often they send a copy of the Subject's DD 214.

You probably know about the 'fire' that destroyed countless records.
An amazing number of DD 214s are incomplete, simply because the short timer only wanted out, and could not care less if there were orders, awards, or decorations missing from his 201 file, as long as his ETS date and pay voucher were good.

Someone posted on a prior thread they would check the RTB class rosters for that time frame today.
