She was emboldened by alcohol.
The whole thang came down fast.

I thought about that too. 3am, leaving a bar - she was most likely tanked and did not have a clear mind to assess the situation.

Alcohol probably affected her thinking, and she was nervous, too. Who knows what we'll say in a time of great stress.
