Well, testy words degenerated into a short brawl, after which everyone backed down, some grudging apologies were made, and we all went about our business.
I'm not much of a brawler, but I did jump into the fray, Meanwhile my sister's friend's date, who was armed with an umbrella, no less, and would have made it three against two in our favor, backed away and pleaded for everyone to stop the violence. At the end of the night my sister's friend told my sister she was p.o.'d that her date wimped out. I doubt she bothered with him after that.
