Estate agent caught between the sheets

A BALLARAT real estate agent faces being kicked out of the industry after he was caught allegedly having sex with his sales assistant in a client's bed.

The house owner's daughter found the real estate agent and his assistant in her parents' bed when she went to prepare the property for inspection. The owner, identified only as James, today told ABC regional radio that his 28-year-old daughter was very upset by the incident.

"The daughter, who found herself in a situation... she thought was compromising and not real estate business, she went into shock," he said.

"She was greatly disturbed by walking into that and then finding herself, you know, sort of needing support from family."

The Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) today confirmed it had received a complaint and said it had launched an investigation into the matter.

REIV Ballarat chairman Graham Wakefield said the allegations were very serious and if true there would be consequences for the agent.

"If it was proven that this had transpired, his membership would be in jeopardy, of course, because he would be acting outside his tenure as an agent of the REIV," he said.

"It would be a great breach of trust."

The real estate agent believed to be at the centre of the scandal did not return calls today.

In a recent survey of 1500 Australians, real estate agents were rated among the least trustworthy professionals with only car salesmen and politicians less trusted.

Of course he didn't return calls. He was "otherwise occupied"...

Um, not saying what this estate agent did was right. But doesn't this sound like a law suit in the making.

I mean, the daughter is 28, not eight years old. How shocked can you get from watching an estate agent with his, um, gavel out? ;-)

Was he trying to 'up' his bid, at the time? ;-)

Is the real estate market "hot" in Australia too?

Maybe that was some new form of home inspection going on in the bed.
They were testing the strength of the floors under the bed I think.

Happened in NJ on a regular basis in a town that shall remain unnamed.

Mistaken identity.

Instead of screwing the homeowner, he screwed the sales assistant instead.

Saw an "Agent" with a "Client" enter a for sale house across from mine and spend a little over an hour looking over a two bedroom house. No doubt what went on they had the "glow" about them when they left!

I dunno - if he was in MY bed, and he was doing the naughty with someone I didn't even know, I think I'd burn my mattress.

Burning your mattress is one thing.

But would you be so shocked that you need counsel in the bosom of your family?

(I dunno, if it was me, I'd just use it as a story to dine out on for a few days! )

In commercial real estate, an offer is made a property subject to approval of an interior inspection. I guess the agent was doing an interior inspection on a residential property.

Happens everywhere.

Especially if it's known that the owners are out of town.
