"It would seem to me that our objective here in Washington, D.C., is to see how we can deal with the disproportionate funding in California ... not on the politics of a political power grab by Republicans," said California Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, D-San Diego. "I think it borders on being disingenuous."

Yeah, political power grabs are only supposed to be done by Democrats. God knows when they redistrict it's all completely fair.

I don't mind partisanship; it's BS I can't stand.

The governor also complains that Bush won't send enough money to help the state with the cost of jailing illegal aliens who commit crimes. This year, Bush proposed eliminating all funding.

Well, isn't that special.

So is the redistricting going to help republicans? The democrats got THEMSELVES into a mess in california, and now they are begging republicans in washington to throw money at them... Sorry but thats not the way it works. FIX the redistricting so that it elects rational, common sense people(republicans) and then we will help at the national level.

You don't tell an addict "here have some more cocaine, if you PROMISE to stop using it". You end the source of problem, and california is addicted to liberal democrat spending.
