What we are seeing here is one of the more intellegent and pragmatic, though still far-left 'Rats acting as a Paul Revere for the hordes of screaming liberal NYC malcontents like Messrs. Krugman, Dionne, Herbert, et al.
First Boxer, K & K boys, and Bobby "Bedsheets" Byrd viciously trash Condellza Rice on national TV, then Howie "Scream Team" Dean is crowned DNC chair, while Hillary blatently begins her '08 pander-fest w/ "pro-life" speeches, etc. Geffen is not the only lefty to see his party being pushed to the brink of total irrelevancy by civil war w/in the orthodox hard-left flank, and oppportunistic Conservatives-come-lately like Hillary.
Make no mistake, the 'Rats are in very deep trouble. As Dean takes his borderline-psychotic Socialist diatribe on the Sunday morning blabfest tour, and dour old farts like K & K continue preaching the "purity" of their cause while Hillary, Bahye, and the other oil-soaked '08 weathervanes rotate in the politcal breeze, Bush & Co. are fathering democracy in the Mid East, creating more GOPers w/ private SS accounts, and annoiting a new Supreme Court that will usher in a new era of Conservative jurisprudence to flower the land with freedom.

If I were Hillary [ugh]...
I would adopt hubby's strategy and split the opposition's vote using some west-coast or sunbelt RINO like McCain, running as an independent like Perot or Anderson.

Someone like McCain is doubly dangerous, since a third-party McCain ticket would split the male vote as well as the Republican vote, while tending to corral the female vote for Hillary.
______________________________________________________-

Forget it, McCain runs as top billing in '08 or not at all. He didn't spend 7 years in VC POW camp to play second fiddle to an ugly left-wing oilcan like Hillary. McCain will be a Bob Dole by '08, without the humor and likability. The fact is that Rice in '08 is pretty much a slam dunk if we can get a Southern good old boy on the ticket with her. Too bad Frist probably wouldn't bite- he's be a perfect Milquetoast type choice, a boring white dude who never steps in s$it, is an MD, etc. A Rice/Frist ticket would really be something. Better yet, Rice/ Zell Miller, if he's still alive.

Ahhhh, yes! The billing records are just the beginning. Remember the 100K Cattle Futures caper? And, how about the Travel Office and the cousin with all the skills to shape up the "discredited" office? Hello, Mr. Livingston!

My list has over 100 entries in it...and I haven't even gotten back to poor ol' Jim McDougal. (Rest his soul.)

This witch is "road kill" -- and she probably knows in -- deep down in her dark, heartless carcass.

Sweet, but I don't think this mentality, or the ability of dems to voice it, will last much longer.

"Someone like McCain is doubly dangerous, since a third-party McCain ticket would split the male vote as well as the Republican vote, while tending to corral the female vote for Hillary."

The problem with this strategy for Hillary is that McCain would beat her hands down. I wouldn't want McCain, or any other RINO to win the 2008 election, but for a strategy to be viable for the Beast, it would have to allow the beast to win.

Although if those were my choices, I'd take McCain and learn to live with it. To me it wouldn't be the lesser of two evils. It would be one evil, and one choice that could be so much better if he ever decided to be a 24/7 Republican.

At each stop in any campaign she is in someone should show up with an overcoat with silverware strung all over the inside. Also someone else should show up with a cow for her cattle futures fiasco. How about shoeone showing up with a black panther clad terrorist outfit. Maybe pictures of suhra arafat and that hug and kiss. Maybe have another with a box of files with a big f.b.i. on the side. Etc, Etc, Etc,
Maybe have someone show up with a fake bullet hole and a mask of vinney foster.
I can go on but suffice it to say that she has no cake walk ahead of her. And speaking of head, how about having a fat dark haired broad and a guy with a billy clintoon mask and simulate oral sex while a news conference is going on. Have someone with a hitlery mask there telling everyone "nothing to see here, move along

That's it: Cow Bells!

Cow bells on hats, t-shirts, signs, everywhere . . . as a symbol of her dishonesty. *

.

*If she gets the nomination.

The only way Hill wins is by splitting the Republican base in two.

Bingo. And if the Republicans nominate Giuliani or McCain, IMHO, that's exactly what will happen. Many conservatives will break away for another candidate, ala Ross Perot in '92. Hillary knows that Bill won in '92 with only 43% of the popular vote. If she can simply hold the blue states Kerry won and pick up either Ohio or Florida, she's in.

She could never prevail with those tactics in a national election and she sure couldn't weather the scrutiny.

Yet she 'weathered' the scrutiny as first lady and all her 'pronouncement as senator. Perhaps because there wasn't any real scrutiny. The MSM has given her a pass all these years. Why would you think a national campaign/election would be any different? She has been a national figure since the his/her post-Super bowl interview of 1992 where she offered herself as a 'twofer'.

She would see to it that NO ONE would get to ask her a tough question, in any forum, lest it expose the "brilliant" myth!

I respectfully disagree and don't find the results from this past election anything to worry about. True, Kerry came dang close, but one cannot consider the results of any election in a vacuum. Look at Clinton, who had the "peace and prosperity" and charisma and was a great speaker and a "people person" but never managed to get 50% despite running against a lackluster opponent.

Kerry was lackluster, too, on top of his undesirable Vietnam activities, but he had a fully united, fired-up, anti-Bush democrat party (which our side lacked in '96 despite similar anti-Clinton sentiments) and more money than any other democrat candidate. He also had on his side the MSM gunning for Bush. And add to that the fact that Bush, make no mistake, had huge electoral liabilities--"Vietnam-like" Iraq "quagmire," "Herbert Hoover economy," lack of WMD's, high gas prices. Also, he's hardly Daniel Webster when it comes to speaking.

Therefore, in my view it's something of a small miracle that Bush was able to pull it out.

In a related story, Geffen died in a bizzare fall "up" a set of stairs on his way home from the speech.

Hillary! cannot win without the complicity of the Round-Heeled Media and Hollywood. As Geffen goes, so goes a lot of Hollywood.

I think we are beginning to see the very first effects of Howard Dean as DNC Chairman. Without someone like Terry McAuliffe to run interference, Hillary! will not get back into the White House unless she is part of a tour group.

Contrary to popular belief....there are many on the left who can't stand her. They will not vote for her in the general election. It will be interesting to see which third party candidate will receive those votes. I could see the Green party making an actual push for national visibility.
