I'll leave the "where" questions for others to play with but here is a little known aspect of Jones' history........... John Paul Jones' autopsy was performed 113 years post-mortem in 1905.
Jones had originally been buried in an alcohol-filled lead coffin and his body was remarkably well preserved when it was exhumed for transfer to its present resting place. An autopsy was made at the time (1905). Immediate cause of death: Pneumonia. Pre-existing condinition: Chronic nephritis.
In the 1980's, the Navy Medical Corps magazine "Navy Medicine" had an article about the John Paul Jones' autopsy. As I recall, the "Navy Medicine" article had a photo of a path slide of Jones' kidney tissue.
The autopsy photos were published by the U.S. Government in 1907.
