During the two-day period that a brutally slain Jersey City family of four lay dead in their bloody Oakland Avenue apartment, a man was already using their bank card to raid their accounts at nearby ATMs on Central Avenue and Kennedy Boulevard - and police have video of the withdrawals, officials said yesterday.
"We don't know at this point where the person resides, but it could be someone from Jersey City," Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said. "The pattern of the ATM locations speaks for itself, and I don't think we need significant analysis of that." DeFazio said reviews of ATM security videos seems to show the same man using the bank card and PIN number at the various locations.
Although the information seems to bolster the theory that the murder of Hossam Armanious and his family was motivated at least in part by greed, those who believe religious extremism played a role in the killing of the Egyptian Coptic Christian family have not been dissuaded. The still unidentified man also used the family bank card and PIN number to withdraw money at ATMs in Manhattan, DeFazio said. During the withdrawals, "thousands of dollars" were taken from the linked Armanious accounts. ....
"We don't believe it is the case that a withdrawal was attempted while (the Armanious killers) may have been in the home," DeFazio said. "We are not exactly sure of the time of death, but it appears the card was used the following day."

I'm betting it wasn't a Catholic Irish woman or Buddhist Chinese boy.
No little old jewish lady either.
This guy has the ATM PIN number...
People do all sorts of silly things. Like write the PIN on a piece of paper and put it in their wallet. Or maybe the killer said he would spare the children if he was given the PIN.
I just want to know what was the ethnic type. And, of course, that this sicko is gotten off my local streets ASAP.
That is interesting. I memorize my pin numbers and I purposely don't write them down anywhere. I don't know anyone that does this, but I guess it's possible that Mr. Armanious had them in his wallet along with the cards.
"... police have video of the withdrawals, officials said yesterday."
thanks for the ping!
I hope that the local gendarmes are actually doing something about this, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
We've got the arrest of a patsy coming.
Show me the pics!
You would think the cops would want the pics out there to see if anyone may recognize them. But usually the quality of those pics are not great. I think the cops know more than they're saying.
I'm keeping my eyes peeled for any pictures. I'm not holding my breath though. Giving the cops the benefit of the doubt feels like a waste of time and hope. All we want is answers and if the JC PD and FBI were really looking for answers it seems that they would have released these pictures a long time ago. Feels like another Ft. Marcy Park investigation. My only question is WHY!?
Possibly the pictures confirm that the killer is a Middle Easterner, something the police seem to want to downplay in this case.
If the cops have pictures, why aren't they splashed all over the media by now? That's just plain stupid police work.
Sounds like the police know who the perp is, they know his name, where he lives/lived, where he went when he left the country; they also know where he is now. Somewhere in the ME that's 'politically sensitive' I imagine.
Patience. Ramifications are huge. If the perp is in Egypt, (as I suspect) it's no wonder the lack of information being made public.
IMO your law enforcement agencies are NOT fools. We do not know what is going on in the background, government to government. I see an opportunity for Egypt to make a huge goodwill gesture in the near future...anyone else thinking along the same lines, maybe?
What's a "slay clue"? I know what a clue is, but not a slay clue.
