These days nothing the United Nations touches turns to gold. Even for specialized agencies that theoretically could do good work.

When the SARS epidemic was hop scotching across the globe, the World Health Organization (WHO) purported to be in the forefront of efforts to develop treatments and find a cure for the disease. But the WHO was reluctant to send staffers to Taiwan, hard-hit due to its extensive commercial and economic ties with China. For the WHO, politics was more important than health. A better name for the WHO might be the World Harm Organization.

Taipei is not a member of the WHO because most nations, including the U.S., formally consider it to be part of China. And China objected to any WHO teams traveling to Taiwan. The mainland Chinese government promised to care for residents across the Taiwan Strait -- as it was lying to its own people about the scope of the SARS epidemic at home. With no thanks to the WHO or Beijing, Taiwan avoided a disastrous outbreak.

It's part of a game that they play.
And it's designed to make poor people pay.
It's part of a lie
to help you to die
while they cart your resources away.

I say conspiracy is in the air
To control the children that you bear.
Control of the land
is a part of the plan
as your kind grows increasingly rare.

It's a truth to be understood
through at first it may appear good.
But it's a menace to health
and to lineal wealth,
Since you can't reproduce when you should.

And in this respect I am told
it is better to use self-control.
For the future and truth
belong to the youth,
since you cannot prevent growing old.

So make sure that your reasoning's sound
before taking that potion down.
For it would be a shame
to come into fame
for being the last one around.

Which, oddly enough, is the same year as the GOP's Earth Resources & Population Task Force Report and only a scant three years before Kissinger put it more plainly, if not as poetically, that indeed abortion was vital to the solution and that, indeed, the clearcutting of human resources so as to ensure our access to the natural resources globally was an integral operation of our National Defense.

Little wonder Dyncorp is being paid millions to spread US-AIDS in Africa these days.
