If Algore's not busy, he can build one for the Red Chinese.

Damned right on that, ER. We're gonna regret it bigtime, and have to fight another war to re-take it from the ChiComs and marxist filth in south america, who've taken it over.

Chinese security forces raid Internet cafes and arrest people who violate Chinese rules.Only if someone is putting up big bucks for a kidney.

RE: with the full involvement of governments
That's interesting, currently, the internet is managed by the private world. Now, gee, why would Communsts want more government involvement? (purely rhetorical question ... )

so the chinese goverment wants goverments of the world to equally disperse email spam and porn???

Someone should start a firm that prints "Not Made in China" labels. That way, things get to be a lot simpler for all of us, if these labels are used on products. Downside for the moment is, the person who prints out these labels will make a lot of money...
...that's because 90% of everything I want is now MADE IN CHINA!!!

Sooner or later, the internet will bring China's thug government, and they see the handwriting on the wall.

Gee, How dare you bring up this line? Don't you know they are heading toward having a capitalistic society and a huge middle class that will buy so much from us that the defecit will be turned on them???

What will they be buying? Services? Goods? I find very few everyday items that are "Made in America" these days.

It is totally reprehensible that China has the monopoly in Great Walls.
I say that this priceless historical treasure should be shared among all nations...

I was being sarcastic. They will not buy anything from us(unless they absolutely have too) because they are more nationalistic and look out for their own countries interest than some other countries.
We just want a cheap dvd and don't care if they have nukes pointed at us.

I was being sarcastic.
I should've known.
We just want a cheap dvd and don't care if they have nukes pointed at us.
I don't and I do. I recently refused to buy a tool at a local O'Reilly auto parts store because it was made in China. The clerk was amazed that the GM logo was on a tool made in China.
(I did buy some "Made in Taiwan" bulbs though)

Hey China, remember our spy plane that you ass-raped? Those parts and a phone call to Al Gore should get you off to a good start.

This guy doesn't have a clue! IP is just a protocol for Christsakes! They can use it just as much as we can.
If they really want to get fancy, they can develope and market their own protocol. Motorola has done this for all of their private wireless data systems and EMS systems.
To: Spackidagoosh
Of course, I have always thought the Chinese should have the .com suffix.
