Power broker from Philadelphia hired by UMDNJ to serve on governor's transition team
Two days after James E. McGreevey was elected governor in 2001, one of his top fund-raisers was hired by the state-owned health care university and then paid $75,000 over the next three months as a liaison to the gubernatorial transition team.
The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey's contract with Philadelphia power broker Ronald White was not approved by UMDNJ's board of directors, and school officials last week said they have no records to show anywork was done for the money.
The contract came to light in the past two weeks after one of UMDNJ's checks was entered into evidence in a Philadelphia corruption trial. White was to be a defendant in that trial but died last year of cancer.
White had close ties with McGreevey's top campaign officials and was a business partner of Robert Feldman, the former governor's No.1 fund-raiser. His company, International Brokerage Concepts Inc., received three checks worth $25,000 each from UMDNJ, according to documents released last week by the university.
Susan Preston, a UMDNJ spokeswoman, said she could not offer any explanation of the contract or White's work and said officials could find nothing to show what White did.
"We have no further documentation beyond what has been provided," Preston said, adding that the contract was approved and overseen by an administrator who has since left the university. She said school policy permits the administration to sign agreements worth less than $100,000 without board approval.
According to university documents, White's firm was retained to represent the university "during the transition of Governor-elect James McGreevey ... (to keep) the university up to date with the evolving plans, policies, budget goals and financial considerations regarding the McGreevey 'health vision for New Jersey.'"

McGay is infamous for hiring another of his gay lovers as NJ's Homeland Security advisor. Golan Cipel was a non-citizen that McG became smitten with, and actually brought the guy over from Israel to protect NJ citizens. The move backfired bigtime when reporters began asking questions McG and Golan Cipel refused to answer.
The two creeps "forgot" that democracy is open government (/sarc).
McG's boy-toy Cipel epitomizes everything that's wrong with liberal-run government.
McGreevey ran as the happily married Mr Clean on a platform that promised to change the way the govt did business.
Two weeks after proposing marriage to Dina---who the then-mayor desperately needed to continue the masquerade to get elected as governor ---McG met Cipel in Israel, brought him back to NJ, and set him up in an apt closeby, to which McG made regular late night visits for sex.
McG successfully ran the Dim Corruption Triatholon---he was on his knees to Cipel, Dina and the voters ---all at the same time---and won the governor's seat.
Strong post, but I truly could've done without the mental image brought up by the last sentence.
You got it.......it's called making the point with visuals.
A rather expensive boy-toy at that!
This guy make me want to puke. Subjecting his wife to the dangers of his homosexual acts and diseases is unconcionable. I am in hopes she is being followed with tests for a time.
McGay musta been standing on a sand dune to get the pic----he's not that tall.

I hope NJ voters are so disgusted with the Democrat Party corruption in that state that they turn them all out on their ears. All over that state, everywhere you look there are Dem officials being investigated or indited for corruption. S'what happens when you just blindly pull the Dem lever election after election and fail to hold anybody you elect accountable.
Probably just going to continue with Corzine as the probable next governor.
Dumbocrats are automatons.....they see a (D) and they automatically vote for it.

Top McGreevey Fundraiser Linked To UMDNJ
Mar 7, 2005 6:47 am US/Eastern
(1010 WINS) NEWARK, N.J. A top fundraiser for former Governor McGreevey was paid 75-thousand dollars to act as a liaison between his transition team and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
But hospital officials told The Sunday Star-Ledger of Newark that there aren't any records that show Ronald White performed any work.
They also say the contract with White, a Philadelphia power broker who died last year after being charged in a corruption case there, was not approved by U-M-D-N-J's board of directors.
White's contract was disclosed when a check from U-M-D-N-J was put into evidence recently at the Philadelphia corruption trial. White died of cancer last fall while awaiting trial.
