It is appalling to see the graffiti in the Pere Lechaise (sp?) cemetary. All of the graves near Morrison's are terribly defaced. I think I remember hearing that they were planning to move his grave to a secret place to stop the vandalism. Wonder if they did.

Thanks for the pic. I'd forgotten how awful that site was.

You're right, I think the French would like to get rid of it due to vandalism. [Cimetiere du Pere Lachaise. The French have words for everything.]

I visited Pere LaChase (not sure of spelling) back in the late 90's. there is now a guard posted at Mr. Mojo Risin's tomb and the headstone has been replaced. there are many, many famous people buried there but everyone there was there to see Morrison's grave. Wonder what it costs the city to keep a guard there 24/7?

I visited Paris in November of 2001 and this is what Jim Morrison's grave looked like then. I didn't notice any graffiti on neighboring gravestones. Image hosted by Photobucket.com
