Thanks so much for posting this piece of Hezbollah propaganda.

-The figure of one million pro-Syrian supporters is the most blatant falsehood in the article. Even Hezbollah said their number was 500,000. News coming from Lebanon reported the crowds to be between 200,000 and 350,000. This is without mentioning that a great percentage of these people were made up of Syrians who work in Lebanon, Syrians who were bused in from Syria, and Palestinian refugees.
-There is nothing to counter-act propaganda as facts on the ground. The minute this piece of trash was published, between 800,000 and 2 million Lebanese hit the street in Beirut telling Syria to get out.
-The five points mentioned in the article list the Taif agreement (over a decade after the agreement Syria is still there, what a surprise! I don't remember an Arab American News story demanding that Taif gets implemented while Syria was still oppressing us...), that Lebanon should remain an Arab country (we Lebanese don't give a hoot about this stipulation. You can call Lebanon whatever you want as long as we are free), have a national dialogue (under the "security" of the Mukhabarat? No thanks!), no foreign intervention not supported by the majority of Lebanese (the author is under the illusion that the majority of Lebanese support Syria's occupation. I'd like to disabuse him of the notion. Not even all Shi'a support it.), and finally an investigation of Hariri's murder. Since I see nothing about the independence of Lebanon, I'd like to tell the author to take his five points and...Theresa Heinz them!

Voting in Lebanon was meaningless with Syria installing whatever puppet they wanted.

With millions of Anti-Syrian, Anti-Hezballah, and pro Democracy ordinary Lebanese citizens marching in the streets US hands may not be needed.

The author misunderstands the issue. Syria is the target, not Lebanon. With Syria out of action, Lebanon can heal itsself.
