No jail for tree lovebirds

Two men arrested after a nearly-naked treetop tryst in Central Park last year got taken to the woodshed yesterday.

But preoperative transsexual William Rund, 33, and boy toy Christopher Montero, 18, won't have to do any time behind bars.

The ponytailed Rund got three years' probation, and Montero got five days of community service from a Criminal Court judge for the X-rated show they put on last April 22.

"I did it out of love," said Rund, whose affair with Montero ran afoul of the teen's family as well as the law.

"I wanted to prove to his mother and family that I love him so much and I was willing to go to jail for him."

Rund spent a total of 10 days in custody - five in Bellevue's psychiatric ward and five on Rikers Island.

The couple, who got "engaged" last year on Valentine's Day, said they're "still together."

Rund showed reporters his left hand, flashing a large square-cut "diamond" with smaller side stones.

"It's real gold," he said. "I picked it out."

Montero, he said, is busy getting his high school equivalency diploma and working in a New Rochelle sandwich shop. They still live separately - Montero with his mother - but they're only five blocks apart.

Rund said he and Montero's family are "getting along better," having recently celebrated Montero's birthday with a trip to an Olive Garden restaurant.
