It's just about getting attention. It takes a special kind of pathetic to post the farewell manifesto to an internet forum, and I'm pathetically drawn in to marvel at it every time it happens.

That's why they always get about 1000 replies. The really pittiful ones do about 3 or 4 before they actually leave.
