The most powerful Congressmen have, in addition to their regular offices in one of the House Office Buildings (Cannon, Longworth, or Rayburn) on the south side of Capitol Hill, a private office in the Capitol itself. It was in such an office earlier this week that I asked a member of the House leadership about the MSM (mainstream media)/Democrat vendetta against his colleague, Tom DeLay.
“Hillary’s fingerprints are all over it,” came his response. “She has no intention of having to deal with an opposition party controlling the House as her husband did for six years and Ronald Reagan did for eight. She has a very clear plan for seizing control of the entire United States government, which includes orchestrating Democrat control of the House in 2006 so it is firmly in place when she is elected president in 2008.”
This will ensure passage of the very first item on her presidential agenda, HillaryCare – the nationalization of medicine in America. That of course is just for openers. There was absolutely no doubt in his mind that Hillary is running – not will run, but already is running – for president in 2008. “This should be obvious to everyone,” he said, “but what is not obvious is that’s not all she’s doing. Her focus and her goals go far beyond just the White House.”
It is, then, at Hillary’s direction that the Washington Post, the New York Times, and the entire Liberal Media apparatus are waging a relentless war upon House Majority Leader Tom DeLay. The charges against him are either inconsequential or hypocritical – huge front page outrage stories, for example, about him going on a foreign “junket” with no criticism of Democrats who were on the very same trip, such as Nancy Pelosi. Last week the WaPo ran this above-the-fold headline piece thousands of words long that was pure recycled froth with no substance whatever.
That’s because the substance doesn’t matter – all that matters is the attacks themselves, that they be kept up until more and more spineless pencil-necks like Connecticut Republicans Chris Shays and Rob Simmons break and crack under pressure. Hillary knows exactly what she is doing. Target the strongest force the GOP has in Congress – DeLay – keep targeting until Republicans surrender and retreat in disarray, then pick up the easy pieces in 2006.
Last fall, my wife and I had a very enjoyable Sunday brunch with Tom and Christine DeLay near their home in Sugarland, Texas. He couldn’t wait for the elections to be over with and the next Congressional session to begin. “As House Whip, I’ve been able to play a role in shaping our Party’s agenda,” he told me. “But next year as Majority Leader, I’ll be able to create our agenda, and map out where Republicans can take America for years to come.”
Hillary’s undercover war on DeLay has now derailed that agenda. “Politics and the media abhor vacuums as much as nature,” my Congressional friend explained. “The New York Times has the space to run these headline hit pieces on Tom because we’ve been thrown off-track, and are not seizing those headlines ourselves, promoting pro-prosperity, pro-America programs.”
Instead, he continued, “we Republicans snipe at each other over the President’s attempt at Social Security reform. Or just look at these Alice-in-the-Looking-Glass hearings for John Bolton. We are actually letting the Democrats get away with making Bolton the issue, and not their defense of the most corrupt and scandal-ridden international organization on the planet, the United Nations. We just refuse to take the offensive and put the Democrats on the defensive where they belong. It’s so bad that the Democrats actually got away with getting a lot of Americans upset at Tom for trying to save Terri Schiavo’s life!”
So here’s how bad it is. Only a few Conservative leaders in Washington – like Ed Feulner of the Heritage Foundation, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, and David Keene of the American Conservative Union – recognize the stakes in the War on DeLay. Next week, for example, there will be a private conference of several hundred conservative Republican leaders from all over the country here in Washington – and not a single speech or strategy session is scheduled regarding it.
Unless these guys figure it out and fast, Hillary’s War on DeLay will succeed. Unless DeLay’s colleagues hang together with him, they will hang separately in 2006 – and Hillary’s path to the White House will be cleared.

Remember this: The dems no longer control the flow of information...And they're PISSED to all the way to their demise!

And if Republicans keep acting as they have for the past four weeks or so, she will succeed.
Look, it's not hard. You campaign on a platform. You get in office. You execute that platform, including the controversial parts. If you have a majority as a party, the People who elected you expect you to use that majority like a big heavy club to impose their will. They are the majority, they won, they get their way, and the minority has to obey the law they impose. That is how it works.
The Republican wheels came off the bus over Terri Schiavo, and with the refusal to just stand up and ram through the Nuclear Option - and to expel folks like John McCain from the Republican Caucus if he will not follow the party on something as crucial to the whole party as that - they are only making matters work.
Hillary cannot win if the same majorities as voted for Bush, vote Republican next time.
But those same majorities are not going to do it if the Republicans with power do not ram down the policies they were elected to do.
Instead, right now you have Republican leaders indignantly crowing about how the Republican Party has started to sound like the Taliban.
Well, guess what, Sherlocks, you are IN POWER because of the religious right, not because of your pretty faces. When the religious right elects you, that means that you have to ACTUALLY PASS THE LAWS and ACTUALLY DO THE THINGS your platform says. Republicans act as though they are elected to be philosopher kings and sit back and do what they think is best...and that that can be DIFFERENT from what they campaigned on.
If they persist in that arrogant, and STUPID mindset, then there will in fact BE the Democratic sweep the article worries about.
If, on the other hand, Republicans would just shut up and legislate, just DO what their platform says - which is what they were elected to do by the people who voted for them - there would be no danger at all of President Hillary Clinton.
The reason that there is a danger is because the Republicans have not been pro-life in the crunch, and have massively offended the pro-life base. That can be fixed, but they aren't fixing it. Instead, they're running further away.
Therefore, they will be defeated, because folks are not going to vote for them again if they welch on the platform this time.
That's the way it is.
Republicans, heal thyselves.

After reading this article, I went to http://www.majorityleader.gov/ which is DeLay's website.
At the top under "Contact me", there's a place to send a e-mail to him.
I have sent him a "don't quit now!" e-mail.
The Dems are trying to force him to resign because he's been such an effective leader & fundraiser. Many of the Dems have family members on their payrolls but they are hoping to do the DeLay what they did to Newt!

Novak is right on here. Hillary is nothing if not a brilliant operator, and that means that she has a plan that likely goes for the next 4 years, and has some specific goals in mind. I think Novak nailed it. Control the House and the Senate and get into the WH, she will have no opposition. She is trying to clear the field and she is using tactics that she learned early in her political career to do it. If you have no issue, pick the strongest warrior in the opposition and try to destroy him/her. If you succeed, the opposition crumbles and trembles in fear.
This is one woman who has read Sun Tzu, and is applying those very tactics. The GOP better get on the offensive and fast. Tactics like these sno-ball quickly if they are not countered immediately.
Time for a lot of ads to be appearing on tv about the evils of the UN, about the smear tactics of the DNC and about how pro-America and Pro-Positive the GOP is. Otherwise, our message is going to be lost in the mud and slime that Hillary leaves behind her where ever she goes. I swear, if the woman had no legs she would leave a trail like a slug.
Delay is guilty of nothing. Don't be deceived by the left wing MSM and the baseless personal attack agenda they are carrying out as puppets of the Democrats. He hasn't done anything that all congressmen and senators do. He has not been charged with anything because there is nothing to charge him with. If there was anything they could nail him with, be assured they would be doing it. They have nothing but a smear campaign to bring down a good and very effective man.
He has asked that he be able to come before the House Ethics Committee so he can clear himself, but the DemonKats won't allow the Ethics Committee to convene for two reasons: 1) Because Delay would be cleared, and 2) because waiting in the wings is the case against Baghdad Jim McDermott, who would be charged and reprimanded or censured, possibly expelled, for passing along to the NY Slimes, an illegally recorded private telephone conversation between Newt Gingrich and another legislator. The Democrat operative couple who recorded the coversation have already been convicted and fined.
This plan failed, the news about Delay isn't the prime focus of news cycles anymore. In fact, these idiot democraps really opened up a can of worms by going after Delay.....because we have pointed out the things they did that are even worse. Delay is not buckling under pressure, in fact he came out to clarify his statements and showed resolve in ending judicial tyranny.
This fearmongering in the article is warranted, but pretty much irrelevant in an era where the alternative media is growing in power everyday. We have the MSM running scared like a bunch of little b*tches, I heard a clip by Leslie Stahl that confirms she is worried about the future of this monolithic propaganda machine.

You are an effective leader and doing a great job for your constituents. That is why they are attacking. That, and the fact that they have ZERO ideas or posititive initiatives to bring to the table. Attack! Attack! Attack! That's all they know. They are despicable.
