The male pill will fill a genuine economic need. Child support levels are rising, generally comprising 15-25% of take-home pay for one child, in addition to add-ons for child care, health care, and other costs.

Wonder how many men are paying child support without proven paternity? "But Your Honor, I was on the Pill!"

"Woman #2: “That’s what the pill has given men—a right to be perpetual adolescents. It’s given them veto power over women who want to have children.”

I have a solution to the skyrocketing number of children being born out of wedlock. First, children born out of wedlock are responsibility of the mother ONLY. Fathers of such children have NO rights or responsibilities. Furthermore the govt should provide NO financial assistance to the mothers of such children (OK, after the first one). This will encourage mothers to act in their own best interest which is to use birth control, get sterilized, or limit their sexual activity until married. Males who wish to see their kids will only be able to do so with consent of the mother. I expect the mothers will charge the males money to see their kids. It is true that this system lays most of the responsibility upon females where it belongs since they are the ones who ultimately control whether or or not there is sexual activity and are using birth control.

You will NEVER get a clue about what women want by asking women.

Yeah, but did you try putting their panties on their head and making a naked pyramid before questioning? (Probably won't help, but worth trying.)

Maybe, if it's a case of entrapment, put the woman in jail for the same term the man has to pay child support. In any case where this crap happens, the one who really suffers is the kid. Bad deal.

Fearless prediction..as soon as this pill is on the market, there will be a fast growing urban legend that it makes your either sterile, impotent, or both..

I dont see any downside to this. How can having more choices in this circumsatnce be a bad thing?

Then it sure would be effective!

It takes ONE court hearing to deal with back child support, it takes about three to four to deal with a violation of visitation before a judge does anything useful.

If the women's movement was serious about reproductive freedom, the only obligation of a man would be 1/2 the cost of an abortion.

Just got neutered this year myself, had a female doc to boot. She asked if I wanted a male present to witness the surgery/mutilation. I told her, "Doc if it's all the same to you I feel more comfortable with a woman versus an audience of male docs spectating". Just call me old-fashioned that way.

I see this as a good thing.

Up to now, the only discussion of "veto" was to women. Now it will be to both.

I have known several men who have had fraudulent paternity accusations leveled. In one case the state social worker insisted that he had to pay interim support based solely on the mother's word even though he had undergone a vasectomy years before.

There are also cases on record where years after the birth of the child, when men found out they were not the father, but were forced to continue support.

Its not long before paternity tests will be standard at every live birth. Sad but may well be necessary to protect men.

we are still fortunate that men are still allowed to give children their last name when it is not fraud. If feminsts had their way the fathers would NEVER see their children.
