BONNEY LAKE, Wash. -- Police responding to a report of "muffled screaming" have found two children tied up inside the garage of a Bonney Lake home, and arrested their parents in the case, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

The two children, a 9-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy, were found at a home in the 7400 block of 207th Avenue East, police said. One child was bound with plastic "zip" ties and gagged; the other was tied to a water heater.

A police department news release said both children were barefoot and the boy was clothed only in his underwear.

Police arrested the children's mother, who is 33, at the scene, and arrested their father, who is 31, when he returned home.

The children were taken to Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma. Two other children found in the home were placed in the custody of Children's Protective Services.

The parents were expected to be booked on charges of first-degree child assault, first-degree criminal mistreatment and unlawful imprisonment.

Considering this is Washington State I can't help but to wonder when they will be placed back with the parents. KOMO TV reported the woman was possibly the step-mother. Thank God this was called in to police.

Unbelieveable..people who have two wonderful gifts from God and treat them like that?? I hope the parents rot in jail, and these children find love, hope and the support that they need.

Was the father a tall, skinny black guy who wore penny loafers, white socks, black pants, white glove on one hand, lots of plastic surgery, sometimes seen with no nose?

The article seems a little unclear on where the probable cause was to arrest the father given that he was not home at the time and the mother was.

Another State of Washington Story? This is the garage the teen hid his BMW in, right? The teen that wanted to move up to a Bentley. What was he doing hiding the car in their garage in the first place?

Oh, not related?

SARCasm OFF.

As a mother and a grandmother, I hope they find other family members willing to raise the children in a loving home. And I hope the couple gets whatever the law can dish out to them, to the MAX. A good tube-tying for the both of them would be a good place to start.

Those weren't my words in the article but rare is the news article where probable cause is clearly articulated.
