DeLay feeding frenzy - (really good one by Joe Scarborough; hits nail on the head)
JEWISH WORLD REVIEW.COM ^ | APRIL 22, 2005 | JOE SCARBOROUGH

The blood is in the water. The sharks are circling. Now it is time for the main course.

Lower the tank and drop in the political corpse of Tom Delay.

Democrats are whipping themselves into a frenzy — as are their allies in the press — over the impending political death of Tom DeLay. The Majority Leader is helping fan the flames by holding up rifles at NRA rallies while asking for more bullets.

But if you are scoring this one at home sports fans, expect to see a flurry of revelations coming out about the Democratic leaders in the coming days.

Even now we are learning that the very Democrats who are attacking DeLay for taking a foreign trip on a lobbyist's tab are themselves guilty of...you guessed it...taking foreign trips on lobbyists' tabs.

The media will slowly get around to reporting this fact but not in time to help DeLay.

The smear campaign has started, just like it did with Newt Gingrich. The Democrats and the media will keep throwing out any charge they can find even if the behavior attacked is legal, ethical, and practiced by other members in Congress.

Delay is not called "The Hammer" for no reason.

Spine and testicles of titanium, that one has. A rare commodity in Congress.

If the Republicans cave on this one, they will lose power, and they deserve to. They need to stand with DeLay, not run and hide.

The MSM is also doing more to further stain its own already tainted reputation. In a few months, we will be hearing whining again about how media credibility is at an all-time low. This kind of character assassination that they are currently involved in has repercussions, especially today when we have so many alternate news sources. The MSM is still living in the past generation when whatever they said was taken as gospel, when the Times was the Grey Lady, not the Pale Prostitute.

Delay ain't Newt. Social conservatives will stand four square behind him unless they find out he dumped his wife on her sick bed.

I have a little more faith in the House Republicans than Joe. Senate Republicans is another story.

I agree!

Just look at the dems .. the repubs agreed to investigate DeLay - and the dems backed down - proving to me it's not DeLay that's the problem with the ethics committee - it's McDermott who's been convicted in a court of law - and he needs to be removed from Congress. However, if the ethics committee can't get it together - then McDermott is safe and the cloud still remains over DeLay.

However .. the information about McDermott has surfaced and now the dems are caught. I still believe that if the nuclear option goes off in the senate - the dems will drop the concern over DeLay because they will be dead in the water.

The rats had better watch their own tails. After hearing Rush today talking about the spy, Fat Teddy's wife's brother, who has been working for the FBI for several years now we have the goods on plenty of rats. Their turn to worry.

"....the information about McDermott has surfaced and now the dems are caught. I still believe that if the nuclear option goes off in the senate - the dems will drop the concern over DeLay because they will be dead in the water."

Rush talked about the tremendous liability of McDermott, Harry Reid and Barbara Boxer, should the Ethics Committee reconvene. I think that it was on Rush's Tuesday or Wednesday show. He went into great detail about the shocking abuses and manipulation of the system by the above Democrats - all for personal financial gain. So, you're quite right. Once the filibusters are terminated, perhaps the rodent Dems will go back into their holes for awhile, because if they push the Delay matter, we will insist upon convening the Ethics Cmte, and that's not anything that the snarky Dems would want.

They are fond of dirty laundry showings, only when it's not theirs.

I certainly hope that DeLay has more balls than Newt. Newt resigned rather than jam his fist down the Demoncrats throats.

Delay ain't Newt.

That's for sure. Delay is still married to his first wife. They have raised several foster children, and they have a charity to help children. (OK, so the Dems count that as a negative. He's raising money!)

If the GOP jettisons Delay, who's next? Frist? That would get them a "two-fer" - a Congressional leader and a possible Presidential candidate.

I really think American people are too smart to buy these accusations. Unfortunately, they are too uninformed to know how hollow they are.

What it does is .. it's a show of power. The dems will call it abuse of power .. but they always do that when they don't get their way. So it won't be a big deal.

Then .. after that show of power - the dems will look even more foolish complaining about the repubs changing the rules on the ethics committee. We know why the repubs made that change and ever since they did - the snake in TX (Earle) has quit threatening to indict DeLay - what does that tell you.

These rule changes are what the dems are mad about.

The 2nd rule the dems are mad about is the rule which says that if the charge is voted on and it's equally divided - or a tie - then the charge is dropped (because the committee is made up of 5 from each party).

The repubs changed that rule also - and the dems are mad about it because with McDermott the dems could have voted to clear him and when the repubs vote to charge him - it would be a tie vote - and the charges would be thrown out.

So .. this is just more of the dems whining and not being willing to allow the repubs to be in power and the repubs better wake up and start telling the dems - WE ARE THE MAJORITY - AND THE MAJORITY HAS ALWAYS RULED - YOU WERE THE MAJORITY FOR 40 YEARS - and if you don't like it you can just darn well lump it.

Can't argue with a thing that you say. It's quite right. They are so transparently phony with their childish games. This includes Killery as far back as her "vast right wing conspiracy" claim.

Well durn. Am I being naive or what?

There may be great churning in Washington of the D.C., but nobody around here seems interested. I listen to the news from Atlanta stations, and DeLay hasn't been mentioned that I've heard in the last month.

I have been stunned to read this week's Doonesbury. All the talk about a DeLay death watch in that cartoon seems stupid and completely out of touch. But what else can one expect of Gary Trudeau?

Bush is supporting Tom, and I don't see other Repubs calling for his resignation (I except Chris Shays, but what the hell can one expect from RINO Shays?)

Seems to me to be a tempest in a very small teapot.

I'm not so sure he's right about DeLay's future.

"Even now we are learning that the very Democrats who are attacking DeLay for taking a foreign trip on a lobbyist's tab are themselves guilty of...you guessed it...taking foreign trips on lobbyists' tabs."

That is exactly what I've been praying, that the Lord would turn their arrows back on themselves.

Touché, Gretchen! Elegant way to put it. Let's pray for a total unraveling of their "best laid plans of mice and men!" They ARE rodents, after all, these unprincipled, dishonest liberals in the DNC leadership!.........and watch out for The Empress, whatever you do. She's laying low, playing it cool.........but she has her eyes on the prize, which is her throne, as she visualizes it.

If this rapacious wolverine ever gets into power, George Soros will have a free pass through the front door of our White House, and this country will be in very serious trouble. Soros has been closer to the Clintons than people realize, and he's a communist.

There was a word that just came out from The Elijah List for Canada (conditioned on God's people praying) and when I read it, I cried out to God to make the same thing happen in hillary's life:

From James Goll:

"A year ago I had the dream where a PM from Victoria island [I think he meant, Vancouver Island] was on TV crying over his moral failure in the area of finances. In the dream - I saw him resign from his post.

This literally happened the next day and was on the headlines of the papers etc.

The Lord revealed to me that what happened a year ago was an appetizer to what is coming soon in Ottawa, Canada on a national level. It will center on fraud being revealed in the financial arena.

I also was given a vision while ministering in Regina last week. I saw a door opening. Great light came forth over the next 18 months. But there was a word that came from behind the door as it began to open, "Seize the Moment."

My sense is that was a word to the prayer movement in Canada - "Seize the moment." This is the hour where the jealousy of God arises and draw a line in the sand. The word came to me, "the landscape will look different in 18 months."

Also - I saw a "Righteous House of Prayer" being opened in Ottawa and intercessors from every province and territory coming over the few months to intercede for their nation in their capital." -- JAMES GOLL
