I wonder if he'll use that old "for health reasons" excuse?

Is this the mayor where during the election the 2nd place finisher was a write-in candidate and she totally won the election but on the ballot you had to check the box beside the write-in vote so they gave it to him? Karma baby, I think the mayor was scandalous

Bottom Line (my opinion) - city council is democrat; and there's been a campaing to get rid of him and to place all the city's woes and illelgal dealings at his doorstep. I would have told 'em to 'shove it' a long time ago.

Murphy is resigning because 1) he's involved up to his eyeballs in some illegal pension shenanigans, 2) the city is being investigated by the feds for lying to Wall St. on its financial statements, 3) the city hasn't completed its audits for the past 2 years and therefore can't issue bonds, 4) the city is broke and getting broker, and Murphy is nothing but happy talk about nothing major being wrong, 5) a movement to recall him was forming.
There are a few other reasons, but those are the biggies.

I wonder if he'll use that old "for health reasons" excuse? Or "I want to spend more time with my family".

No, I think he'll be forthcoming, but not as blunt as I desire.
I'd tell the council and the citizenry of this once great town, exactly where to go and to make it non stop and one way.
