This is very true. In fact Disney does not sponsor any of the gay day events. But this year its cross town rival Universal is sponsoring the gay day events happening there. But of course you won't really hear much about it. because no matter what the focus will be kept on Disney as being the evil ones even though they don't sponsor the activities.

The Christen event that is sanctioned by Disney is called A Night of Joy and is a two night event where all the top christen artists come in and perform. This event is held after hours.

"feng shui" which is actually Chinese for "I can believe they're buying this BS."

ROTFLMAO-God, I love FR. We must have the funniest posters of any web site.

"The Walt Disney Company has unveiled its plans for its new theme park in Hong Kong —a perfect reproduction of Disneyland—well, not exactly “a perfect reproduction.” Changes had to be made after Disney consulted with a feng shui master. "

" ...I can’t imagine the local visitors asking if the park had been designed according to feng shui or if incense was being properly burned."

What the local visitors will be asking is "where are all the rides"? This park will open with a whopping 12 attractions, including such E ticket attraction as the walk through the castle!

To give you an idea of how much of a "perfect reproduction" this is of the original Disneyland, in the original Disneyland between the July 15 1955 and it's one year anniversary it ADDED nearly twice as many attractions as this new park will have total in its first several years of operation.

I don’t know how much of this is being done to placate the oriental mind—this is, after all, an Asian theme park. But I can’t imagine the local visitors asking if the park had been designed according to feng shui or if incense was being properly burned.

Or they might.

I remember an article a few years ago, about a court case in Asia, where one company had built their HQ to mess up the Feng Shui of a rival's HQ -- and the rival sued. I never did find out how it ended.

Why does it go to Hong Kong and respect local religions and then hit Christians in the face back home?

Simple answer? Money.

Tonight, my wife and I are making our menu for next week. Chicken will definitely be on the menu on poultry respect day. I respect a good chicken breasts ability to be filling and juicy.

We have a lot of professions that don't technically hurt anyone, but do provide entertainment value although what they're doing is complete bunk. Examples are those that communicate with dead loved ones (known as cold reading in con circles), palm readers, etc.

I saw a great show on National Geographic today where they did a thorough debunking of ghost sightings. A lot of the stuff they showed were things that believers could honestly mistake for real evidence (for example, "spirit orbs" that show up on video are really just dust motes interacting with the light) but others are definite trickery. There's a really spooky video of a ghost in a used car lot that was showing up on all the cable news networks last year, and the debunkers on this show did a video of their own that looked just like it, using a doll and some glass set in front of the camera at a 45 degree angle. Pretty cool stuff.

Another walkway is being redesigned to create an angle that will keep positive chi, that is, “life energy,” from flowing into the sea. In addition, “Disney burns incense ritually as each building is finished,” and it “picked a lucky day” for the opening.

Any relation to Cheech and Chong? LOL, I thought for awhile that his name was Chi... Chi and Chong - until I checked it out. Too funny.

it redesigns the whole theme park “to ensure prosperity” based on a kooky Eastern fad.

One of the more interesting aspects of feng Shui is the collective folk wisdom handed down for thousands of years concerning the best layout of houses on properties. It is considered preferable to have buildings face south, have some type of barrier *bushes, fence, hedges whatever) to provide protetion from the immediate street. There are many "common sense" ideas that are part of Feng Shui that have nothing to do with mirrors, chimes or chi. Not all Feng Shui is hocus pocus. It's a lot of common sense that's been codified for those in need of common sense.
