Understanding the true nature of Turkish Republic is very important for other countries. Turkey is a country named Turkish Republic. First of all, Turkey is a not democratically established on true nature or roots. It means they show themselves one hand as a democratic systems. They signed a a lot of national or international agreement about human rights or recognition of minorities. They changed alphabet and dressing by law at 1920's by constitution.

On the other hand, the same constitution says that Turkey is belong the Turks and Turkish is a only language to use. Also, it says that any other language can not be as a official language and will be punished. This kind of samples might be thousands to show how Turks or Turkish totalitarian regime thinks or understand democracy.

We should now that Turkish military is a main ruler in Turkey which is against democracy, against any political opinion or any kind of minorities.

I believe that in spite of all evidence or documents, Europe or America didn't understand real face of Turkey. If Turkey have some relationship with Europe or America just for their long standing regime since 1920's.

This military regime at least three times they charged civilian democracy since 1920's. They did not like the civilian democracy got root and power in country and they destroyed the elected government 1960's, 1970's and 1980's. But also, they tried to put total control until now. Unfortunately, there are new research and documents says that most of terrorist activities or organizations also whether supported or created secretly by them. Why?

The reason was that after long time conflict they wanted says that civilian elected government not able to handle situation.

Armenian journalist on trial in Turkey for "insulting Turks"
Kurdistan Observer|2005 Apr 28

ANKARA, April 28 (AFP) - 13h39 - A Turkish court on Thursday began hearing a case against a journalist of Armenian descent on charges that he insulted Turks in remarks at a conference three years ago, the Anatolia news agency reported.

Hrant Dink, editor of the Armenian-language weekly Agos, could face up to three years in prison if found guilty by the court in the southeastern Turkish city of Sanliurfa where the conference on minorities and human rights was held.

Dink, who was not present at the hearing, told AFP from his office in Istanbul that he believed the suit stemmed from his reponse to a question on what he felt when, at primary school, he had to take an oath with which elementary school days begin in Turkey.

The patriotic verse which all students in Turkey have to memorise and recite begins with the lines: "I am a Turk, I am honest, I am hardworking".

"I said that I was a Turkish citizen but an Armenian and that even though I was honest and hardworking, I was not a Turk, I was an Armenian," Dink explained.

He said he also criticised a line in the Turkish national anthem that speaks of "my heroic race".

"I said I did not feel like singing that line because I was against the use of the word 'race', which leads to discrimination," Dink said.

Dink is on trial with Seyhmus Ulek, deputy chairman of the Mazlum-Der Human Rights Association, who is accused of insulting the Turkish Republic and could also face upto three years in jail if convicted.

Antisemitism in the Turkish Media: Part 1
MEMRI via Free Republic| 2005 Apr 28

The rising antisemitism in the Turkish media is a complex phenomenon that manifests itself in several forms: 1. Animosity towards Jews, Judaism and 'Jewish lobbies.' Jews are targeted as individuals, a community, people and "race," and as a sinister political entity seeking Jewish dominance on world affairs, businesses and media. Jews are demonized in many conspiracy theories including causing earthquakes, globalization, and the creation of Wahhabism in Saudi Arabia.

2. A hostile approach towards the Jewish citizens of Turkey, questioning their loyalty; blaming them of treason and for the fall of the Ottoman Empire; characterizing them with derogatory adjectives; inciting the public by citing Koran verses hostile to them; and creating an atmosphere conducive to violence. This type of antisemitism also targets Masonic lodges and freemasons for their alleged connections with Judaism.

3. Antisemitism that in recent years has turned into a harsh campaign, which some Turkish intellectuals have called "a witch hunt" against the 'Dönme' who are regarded as 'hidden Jews' posing as Muslims. They are blamed for helping to found the modern Republic of Turkey as a 'spare' Jewish state, for holding all key positions' in Turkey and for ruling the country.

4. Antisemitism directed at Israel and Zionism. The word 'Zionists' often replaces the word 'Jews' in the press.

This is the first part in a series of reports which will be released in the coming weeks. The following are excerpts from articles in the Turkish press dealing with antisemitism (the format of the text appears as in the original):

All the more reason why Turkey should not be allowed into the EU. It would be the nail in the coffin for Europe and the shift towards a Eurabia would accelerate.

This is the first time I've seen two such stupid pieces of BS posted on this forum.

This Antisemitism in the Turkish Media: Part 1 is based entirely on radical Islamist newspapers which sell only a few thousand copies a day in a country of 70 million. I could find the same remarks on some American or even Israeli media just as easily.

Its very nice of you to post articles from an organization strongly linked to a Kurdish seperatist Marxist terrorist group. I'm guess everyone should take Al Qaida supporting sources to base their views on the US and Israel then.

A pathetic attempt at propaganda against Turkey. Who pays you to post this BS?
