U.S.-led Forces Recover Letter Believed for al-Zarqawi BAGHDAD, IRAQ-May 3, 2005 — U.S.-led forces have recovered a letter they believe was addressed to Jordanian-born militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi complaining about low morale among his followers and the incompetence of leaders in his terror network, the military said Tuesday.

The letter was seized during an April 28 raid in Baghdad, which also yielded an undated document listing target information and sketch maps for kidnappings and bombings, the statement said.

This would be great news if it didn't come out of the PSYOPS center in Bahrain.

Is it on Congressional letterhead or is it a copy of a fax of an original from an authenticated source at a specific Kinko's in a certain Texas city?

Just how many times can you blow yourself up before loose interest in the job?

When we keep capturing and killing their leadership it is inevitable that they have a lack of skill among those they get as replacements. The smart skilled ones find safer pastimes.

We still really need to bag Zarqawi.

yep. Joining the terror networks is like the middle eastern version of American Idol. The originals are all either dead or arrested, and each subsequent generation to join up for their shot at fame is a little less talented than the last. Just like AI.

Do you have any evidence of this, or is it complete conjecture?

Capturing Zarqawi is only a matter of time. His network is dying.

My guess is that he'll shortly leave Iraq. The insurgent infrastructure is under serious stress and appears to be collapsing. Everyone knows they're losing. Every now and then they blow up a few unsuspecting civilians. Their choice of targets are proof of their desperation.

It would be great to find a way to "tag" him rather than capture him. He'll leave Iraq and head for Al Qaeda HQ with Osama.

There are few people even in the world of dictators who would willingly go to N. Korea.

Perhaps Iran, but I doubt it. He's been targeting Shi'its the last few months when he couldn't find anyone else to kill.

My bet is the Himalayas where he'll take up goatherding with Osama.
