These is exactly the kind of behavior that prompted Spanish philosopher Jose Ortega y Gassett to pen his classic treatise on economics
The Revolt of the Masses in the 1930s.
It's also worth noting that this is exactly the kind of behavior that made him recognize in the 1930s that Spain's time as a relevant cultural and economic force in the world was long gone.
