I know Ralph Seekins, and he's the best kind of guy. You don't mess with Ralph. He'll support common sense and freedom no matter what. He's honest and has integrity. At our house in Fairbanks we've found bear markings on our trees. You don't go anywhere without being prepared to confront the unexpected. Nature is beautiful but cruel. Depending on your personal preference, preparation might include some kind of firearm, which has to be available at all times to be of use. BTW, his wife is a fine lady.
Squantos, in the early spring, our first crop of mosquitoes are huge, fat, slow and stupid. You can literally grab them out of the air. It's the small, fast, smart ones that come later in the summer that are a real pain.

Hey Eaker, if Squantos can get up here nearly every year, when are you going to make it? You're not going let him show you up like that are you?

Self defense is a most basic human right.

because private property rights are just as important as 2nd amendment rights?

Because we as gun owners need to realize that all our rights are intertwined and should be respected - not just the ones that are convenient for us?

If your employer doesn't allow guns on company property, get another job. The only time that would be different is if you worked for the government.

Corporations don't have Rights.

If they abuse their privlidges (corporate charter) granted by the state to infringe upon the Rights of their employees, then the state should seize that corporation and give it to the employees.

This has nothing to do with property Rights, and everything to do with gun-grabbing statists.

What about the property Rights of the worker to his vehicle? Is it okay if bossman bans books from his private vehicle as well?

YEp. He can say 'no books in vehicles on company property'.

The employee can tell him to stuff it and get another job.

Freedom cuts both ways. But everyday on this web site it's illustrated that people only want freedom THEIR way. Screw everyone else.

Corporations, as legal entities, and as representations of their owners, do indeed have property rights. To say otherwise is just foolishness and reveals your naivete or willingness to lie to suit your agenda. By your 'logic', the state could demand that every corporation put up a portrait of hillary clinton in their lobby. Because, hey, corporations don't have rights!

"If they abuse their privlidges (corporate charter) granted by the state to infringe upon the Rights of their employees, then the state should seize that corporation and give it to the employees."

How very communistic and totalitarian of you. The name of the web site is 'free' republic, not control freak republic.

Freedom cuts both ways

Freedom is slavery, right?

Korporations operate under special privlidges granted by the state. They don't have Rights, and they aren't individuals. So your "freedom" argument really doesn't apply.

The employee can tell him to stuff it and get another job.

Or he can petition his legislature to enact laws protecting his Rights as a Free man. *That's* the better answer. And that is exactly what is happening in Alaska.

Screw everyone else.

That is the attitude of these big korporations. I have yet to see a small business or a privately owned business ban guns (I read a lot over at packing.org and ar15.com). They all seem to act as good neighbors.

The big korporations are the ones screwing folks in this country. If it were to them, we'd all be working 100 hour weeks and getting paid in kompany script.

But fortunately, it isn't up to them. The government actually does their job in this country once in a blue moon to protect indiviudal Rights.

Maybe you should consult your doctor about your allergy to logic.

How very communistic and totalitarian of you

I figured I would get called a "communist" on this thread eventually. It just goes to show how succeessful korporate propaganda has been in this country.

Do you also think it would also be "commmunistic" if the state seized my property for violating the Rights of my neighbors (by continually playing music too loud all hours of the night, as an example). And that IS exactly what would happen.

The state would seize my property at gunpoint for violating their Rights. And you would probably be applauding it.

Why do you think korporations should be exempt from having their property seized for maliscously (sp?) violating the Rights of others?

The name of the web site is 'free' republic, not control freak republic.

The control freaks are the folks that want to control what workers keep in the private vehicles, and then assume no responsiblity when an employee gets murdered or raped on the way home because they followed the kompany's anti-gun policy.

If find it interesting that so-called "conservatives" love to talk about individual responsibility when it comes to folks that can't pay their bills because of a medical emergency (the #1 cause of bankruptcy in this country), but on the other hand will jump to defend the "rights" of korporate leaders to not be responsible for the things they do (limited liability).

By your 'logic', the state could demand that every corporation put up a portrait of hillary clinton in their lobby

By your logic, the korporation could just find another place to conduct their business, right?

Putting up portraits of Hitlery is an unreasonable regulation, plus the state lacks that authority. They do have the authority, however, to protect the Rights of individuals.

It sounds like you have a state government that actually works for the people instead of against them. At least on the RKBA.
