REDONDO BEACH, Calif. -- A missing groom is back home in California, a month after he failed to show up at his wedding.

Kenneth Souza vanished April 3, the day he was supposed to get married in Redondo Beach.

A police spokesman said Souza just showed up at home, knocked on the front door and went in and took a shower.

Sgt. Phil Keenan said his department was forced to spend "a lot of resources" searching for someone who was "playing wolf."

Funny, I don't remeber this being splattered all over the news, 24/7.

"Playing wolf"? Does he mean "crying wolf"? Or was the "groom" out whistling at women and making untoward advances? Maybe stalking and killing sheep? All of this hullabaloo over adults who have the unmitigated audacity to move about the country without telling the police has me confused, I guess.

Playing 'possum', I think. Lots of dif between a 'Huff & puff & I'll blow your house down wolf' & a 'curl up in a ball to hide possum'...

Perhaps that's because he didn't call up his fiance and claim that he had been kidnapped?

"Perhaps that's because he didn't call up his fiance and claim that he had been kidnapped?"

That other story dominated the news long before she ever called a soul.

I think I heard about this the other day. IIRC he's done this type of thing before, so no one was surprised when he disappeared.

That be cuz he really didn't want to get married...burned bridges & all that. Our famous runaway bride is still thinking about it... : )

One tremedous bachelor's party.

Actually, if this is the one I heard reported a couple of days ago, the guy cancelled his bachelor's party. Also (IIRC), a couple of bloody steak knives were found at his house and blood was found in his shower the day/night he disappeared.

True. But did he leave behind his wallet, credit cards, identification and a clump of his hair?

(And I would prefer it if the other story never hit the airwaves.)

searching for someone who was "playing wolf."

Playing wolf, or playing golf?

The media can't get any good "red state" bashing out of this case, since it took place in California.
