I voted twice for GW. There is a huge gap between his aggressiveness on Iraq and his non-defense of our borders. He is supine when it comes to Messico and it's ongoing invasion of the United States. America was once a proud nation full of people who were proud to live here. This birthright is being frittered away by our Washington DC permanent Federal gubbermint.

At this point I don't expect much action from the president on this issue. He's been reelected and seems to be avoiding the issue altogether.

Now I'm concentrating my efforts on my representatives.

I've long claimed, tongue in cheek, that W's position or laxk of position on the wetback invasion is so irrational that it can only be explained by something like the fact that Fox has all the copies of the pictures of W dancing naked on the bar.

The dems profit so hugely from illegal immigration that you'd have thought it would have been a political issue long ago.

How do they profit? Unlimited illegal immigration articficially depresses wage rates and so long as rates are low, blacks are better off not working and do not voluntariy enter the work force. Without Mexicans, wage rates would rise under normal market conditions and wages get higher, blacks would move into the market. Once blacks become employed and pay taxes, the status quo will change. Blacks who are dependent on the dems will continue to vote for the dems. Blacks dependent on themselves will at least examine alternatives.

re your post#2: Cheese-dickery is rampant in DC. It must be the water. Amen to yours.

Unless the borders are sealed up all other issues become academic.

This one issue is making it real difficult for me to have any respect for the president and the republican party. When I think of the danger and the hypocrisy on the part of the president it makes me sick that I voted for him twice. The homeland security department and the patriot act are worthless wastes of money when we have an open border. The next time president Bush claims to be doing everything he can to protect us from another 9/11 I'm going to throw up.

"There is a huge gap between his aggressiveness on Iraq and his non-defense of our borders."

This is already Dubya's "legacy" -- he doesn't believe the United States of America is a sovereign nation.

"Oh, really? I guess that's why West Coast author, columnist, NewsMax contributor and talk show host Kathleen Antrim told me that the porous Mexico-California border is "drowning our state's economy, to the tune of about $10.5 billion a year." Sixty-five emergency rooms in Southern California had to shut down, "hung out to dry on millions and millions of unpaid medical bills." "

Wait until a few FReepers have to admit their mother or father to the emergency room for a stroke or a heart attack, and have the emergency room full of illegals with superficial cuts and head colds.....like what happened to me with my dad at St John's Hospital 4 years ago. I had to physically threaten an orderly to have him examined. I was almost arrested. I am no longer a Republican; at least not until they clean up their act big time. I will never vote for any other party either, I will just stay home, and hope we clean out the polluted vermin in our party.

I voted for him twice also. I disagree with the line aggressiveness on Iraq, aside from the decision to go to war there, the pacification is being handled like stateside police action. I wouldn't "water him" if he was on fire. As a straight line Republican voter of the past 12 years, I now will give much thought to an old strategy.....vote against all incumbents, regardless.

Why do people think we're not going to suffer another major terrorist strike because of our porous borders? It's not an issue of if, but when, as well as the severity of the attack.

And I guarantee you, if it happens, and there's an impeachment of the President, God forbid, you'll see the careers of a great number of U.S. Senators and Congressmen come to a screeching halt, too. I live in Nebraska, and the idea of removing our Senator Hagel from office just makes me feel warm all over.
