This is similar to the Social Security Administration accepting a written record in a family Bible in lieu of a birth certificate. If a person was never issued a birth certificate, a notation in the family Bible, such as "John, born May 17, 1921" is accepted by SSA as proof of birth.
A lie repeated often enough becomes the truth in the eyes of the masses.-Joseph Goebbels
"That means that by about June 21, the inquiry committee will be called upon to decide by simple majority vote whether sufficient credible evidence exists to warrant a full investigation by the faculty's full standing committee, on any or all of the allegations."
They're still INVESTIGATING this loser? For heaven's sake, CU, just bite the bullet and fire him, and get back to what you're supposed to be doing. Whatever that is.
I'm a prince!
A second method is through community acceptance and recognition.
My drinking buddy says I'm a prince!
Enrollment in a tribe is a third qualification
I have drinking buddies who think they're princes too!!!
Isn't this guys 15 minutes about up?
"His attorney, David Lane, said a response of more than 50 pages, single-spaced, was delivered to a committee representative Monday afternoon."
This idiotic phony is a windbag in print too.
"He responded to everything, including the absolutely unconstitutional inquiry into his ethnicity," Lane said.
Here's Churchill's palagerism defense:
I was thinking those words long before they ever wrote them so they're the ones who should be charged with palagerism! (and I'm an Indian too!)
Churchhill's quite a pantload. Anyone can see that.
Since Mr Churchills pedigree was a major part of the basis for his hiring it is germaine to the discussion.
He lied about being an authentic American Indian.
He plagarized several academic works. That he did so is apparent when your read the works he copied or see the art he copied.
The wheels must grind slow and fine in order to fire a tenured professor.
He will be fired before the next school year starts.
"One, Lane said, is how a person self-identifies. Churchill has identified himself as an Indian - by at least one recent account - since he was 10.
A second method is through community acceptance and recognition. Churchill points to the passionate rally around him by American Indians, including actor/activist Russell Means, during his speaking engagement on the CU campus Feb. 8, as evidence of meeting that test."
Sounds like bs...
But ok...when I was 10 I told everyone I was an alien from outer space! And my mom said come on, alien, sit down and eat...
So I self identified and had community acceptance...therefore, I am an alien from space.
Who knew?
Soooooo, what was the fourth point (upon which American Indian status can be legally claimed)?
Actually having an Indian ancestor?
Man, they're strict . . .
If he were a true academic, he'd know that you always double space your papers. :-)
I have one basic question: Did he write these things, say these things as an employee of the university? If so, I don't think the 1st Amendment applies at all. IIRC, the byline of the essay included something like "Ward Churchill is professor of American Indian Studies at UC Boulder," so I would think he was doing it as a public employee.
