Ask them one-on-one about the 2004 "secret meetings" with some seriously left wing moonbat special interest groups listing "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" and how the rats were going to do anything, including shutting down the senate, to prevent the fine and fully qualified judges from being confirmed.

An abuse of power would be to keep 10 perfectly qualified judges from getting an up-or-down vote for 4 years using a threatened filibuster.

"Can they honestly look themselves in the mirror..." If I recall lore correctly, Vampires are not reflected in mirrors, so the answer would be "No."

They first used this only 5 or so years ago in all the hundreds of years this country has been in existence.
The Republicans want the right to an up or down vote and that is reasonable.
What is unreasonable by the left is that all Catholics and other strong Christians are automatically targeted for exclusion to serve in high offices or in courts by liberals.
We know they have used the judiciary to get into society what they could not through the vote of the people.
This is a battle that has been a long time coming and between this and taking out the teacher's union, there are lots of battles yet to be seen.

an abuse of power by a few lawmakers "few lawmakers" = a majority

I support a real filibuster and not this gentleman's agreement nonsense. This nonsense of saying they are going to filibuster to prevent an up or down vote is ridiculous. Make the Dems stand there and talk and the situation will take care of itself within two days.
There is no question the Dems will use this against us in the future just as Senator Byrd has changed the rules in the past to suit his needs

A nice talking point, but it isn't true. Or didn't you hear Frist admit to filibustering a Clinton nominee?

Nothing new. The Democrats accuse the Republicans of what they themselves are doing.

Just wait until the dems see what their pig headedness got them. They may have slowed down a few judges but the result may very well be a complete sweep of Bush's judges. The law of unintended consequences is poised to strike again at the dems. I, for one, will be smiling all day when it happens.
To: lugsoul
No I didn't hear that Frist filibustered a Clinton nominee.
That was done when they were in the minority or when they had a majority vote?
