Woman says she received desecrated Quran through Amazon.com

LOS ANGELES - A Muslim woman who said she ordered a Quran through Amazon.com only to find profanity and religious slurs written on its cover page asked Wednesday for an apology and a full investigation by the online retailer.

Azza Basarudin, 30, said that she received the Quran by mail on May 5 after ordering it through a used books division of Amazon.com that allows customers to order directly from third-party sellers approved by the company.

When she opened the Quaran, Barasudin said she found profanity and the phrase "Death to all Muslims" written on the inside page in thick black marker. Basarudin, a graduate student in women's studies at UCLA, said she was overwhelmed by fear similiar to what she felt after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks when her sister and mother were targets of anti-Muslim slurs.

"I dropped the book because I didn't know what to do," she said at a news conference at the Islamic Center of Southern California. "I was paralyzed after 9/11 - I couldn't leave my house for a couple of weeks - and I realized that fear was coming back."

Salam Al-Marayati, executive director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council, said his orginization wants a public apology and investigation from Amazon.com, as well as the firing of those responsible for mailing the desecrated book. He would also like Amazon.com to fund educational programs that foster religious tolerance.

BTW, the Islamic tradition holds that the only suitible punishment for "hypocrites" is execution.

At some point these guys have got to start enforcing that part.

Looks like she does real worthwhile research too.

“Linking Theory and Activism: Redefining Categorical Feminism and Feminist Theory.”

Wow. Sounds important. Something else to wipe my butt with.

Whenever I read the Koran I make it a practice to eat ham, or maybe a piece of charcoal broiled dogmeat!

We should allay they fears of all Mulims by shipping them back to Mecca.

I think it was something dreamed up by Andres Serrano who creates such art as "Piss Christ";

"after ordering it through a used books division of Amazon.com that allows customers to order directly from third-party sellers...."

Now why is she mad at Amazon.com?

I order all my Korans through Amazon.com. They make great toilet paper.

I'm in trouble now. I laughed so loud I woke my wife up

Here's this tool's Web site.
Note: Her faculty advisor is Dr. Sondra Hale, whom I had a few unpleasant encounters with during one of my previous lives as a UCLA staffer. Hale is an Andrea Dworkin/Mary Daly lesbo-commie moonbat of the worst kind, and I wouldn't be too surprised if she helped cook up this scenario.

With this broad's resume I really have a hard time believing she didn't have at least one copy of the Quran around. She must be fos, anyways its not like Amazon checks every used book supplied by 3rd party vendors. Lady you are full of it and you can kiss off. Oh by the way get the hell out of my Country.

I ordered a used book from Amazon once. Amazon took the order, forwarded it to a used book dealer, and the used book dealer drop-shipped the book to me. Amazon never saw the book.

This is an obvious sting and right out of the Al Qaeda play book.

Ya know, when you buy a high-mileage used Koran, you really need to have it checked out by a trained mechanic before you drive it home.

Yes, they need to behead those that do not idolize the koran.

How can we infidels make it clear that islamics, all of them, demand the beheading of those that do not sacriment the koran?

That's what we need to be doing. Not this infighting. We need to make it very clear that islam demands blood sacrifice for what Newsweek did.

What they did is really nothing. It's what the koran and the islamics demand now that's important.

I'm starting to think these Islamonazis are taking a page from the Jesse Jackass playbook and creating these "controversial" incidents for leverage.

I thought that women were not allowed to touch "The Profane Koran".

Women are not allow to touch the Quran during the time of the month when they are considered "unclean" by Islam.
