Good grief, Byrd's crazier than John Dean. He was born again in 1946, which would be during his prime KKK Klegle years. He may have "gone under the water", but the preacher didn't hold him dowm long enough.

I am a born-again Christian and have been since 1946.

And being the good christian he was, he went out and joined the KKK and encouraged others to do so.

That was classic!

I've never seen anything like Byrd's performance that day.

I love Byron York. Check out the source, I edited out a bunch of ’ and ”. I hope that's not a copyright violation.

I can see why some "evangelicals" turn you off.

I'm still waiting for the left to throw a tantrum over the mention of religion in congress. Guess I won't hold my breath.

Frist might look at Byrd and say, with all the sincerity he can muster: It is time to start the healing.

If we are to heal, it is time to address the truth, when the change in the Senate filibuster rules started - it started with Tom Daschle during the first Bush term. The Democrats changed the "rules" to suit themselves and stop Bush nominees from even getting that first vote. These are the rules that Harry Reid is so loudly proclaiming are being changed. The Constitutional Rules have never, ever been changed and those are the rules that Senator Bill Frist is trying so hard to keep.

That stuff is probably hidden code that shows up because of discrepancies in HTML language or conversion from one word processing program to another. Usually it represents quotation marks or hyphens in the original program.

I use WordPerfect by preference rather than MS Word, partly because it has a "view hidden code" feature that allows you to weed out leftover fragments of code left hidden in the text after revision and cutting.

Laura Ingraham's radio "fisking" of Sheets Byrd's speech was hilarious.

He may have "gone under the water", but the preacher didn't hold him dowm long enough.

LOL!!! Frist should have used that in his reply. Excellent retort to the old windbag, Sheets Byrd!

Byrd is over the top on this one!!!

His approval ratings in W. Virginia have sunk to all time low, he should be an easy win for the GOP, the challenger should not go easy on him.

The senile old lying ba$tard need to be sent back to West Virginia. America cannot afford another term of this Klan-wrapped, pork-master.
