I remember when friends would excitedly telephone to report that Rush Limbaugh or G. Gordon Liddy had just read one of my syndicated columns over the air. That was before I became a critic of the US invasion of Iraq, the Bush administration, and the neoconservative ideologues who have seized control of the US government.

America has blundered into a needless and dangerous war, and fully half of the country’s population is enthusiastic. Many Christians think that war in the Middle East signals "end times" and that they are about to be wafted up to heaven. Many patriots think that, finally, America is standing up for itself and demonstrating its righteous might. Conservatives are taking out their Vietnam frustrations on Iraqis. Karl Rove is wrapping Bush in the protective cloak of war leader. The military-industrial complex is drooling over the profits of war. And neoconservatives are laying the groundwork for Israeli territorial expansion.

It is likely to stay destroyed, because at this point the only way to restore America’s reputation would be to impeach and convict President Bush for intentionally deceiving Congress and the American people in order to start a war of aggression against a country that posed no threat to the United States.

I don't know what planet that character lives on but the Islamic nuts have been hating the U.S. since the early 1970's. It all came to a head during the term of that democratic hero Jimmah Carter when Iran sponsored the kidnapping of a number of American Citizens. It took a Republican by the name of Ronald Reagan to get those people back.

The First attack on the world trade center occurred during the term of another democratic hero named Clinton. He tried to treat these terrorist like your average everyday criminal. Seeing that Clinton would do nothing these same terrorist blew up a number of American Embassies killing hundreds of people, Still no response. They then attacked an Air Force dormitory killing a number of Airman.

Still seeing No response the terrorists then attacked the U.S.S. Cole and blew a Large hole in the side of the ship killing a number of sailors. Still no reaction by the democratic hero president. The terrorist then felt invulnerable so the decided to attack the world trade center a second time and they succeeded in killing almost 3000 people.

Their only problem was this time they had a President who was going to take the war to them, something they did not expect.

Now some people would say that these terrorist are only a small minority of the Islamic Faith but during the Past 35 years these people have proven that they had the support of their coreligionist and they had the approval and support of their sponsoring governments to kill Americans anywhere in the World.

So Paul Craig Roberts is full of crap. These Islamic Nuts would hate us whether we defended ourselves or not. History proves that.

Their religion requires them to hate anyone who doesn't share their religious beliefs, so your sentence would read better- Muslims have hated everything the US stands for (including religious tolerance) since Islam was formed.

That itself is a blatant, hysterical lie. Bush did the right thing for the right reasons and NOT so that so-called journalists will say nice things about him. No good deed goes unpunished, after all and history is full of examples. How about that Lincoln freed the slaves and the majority of African-Americans vote for the Dems (the party of slavery!). Or that the American military men and women have fought and died so that people can have a free press, a free press that hates all that the military is, does and stands for and routinely slanders them. Guess the world isn't fair...or maybe, just maybe what goes around comes around.
