As usual, Iowans have no vote in the U.S. Senate.

How does Iowa stand, generally speaking, when it comes to social issues? I sort of assumed it to be conservative, but Harkin doesn't even try to hide his social liberalism does he? Is it simply a case of him being able to bring home the bacon, as with the Dems in the Dakotas?

Lurked way too long, but how would you like to hail from Illinois where you had no vote? Look at the number of States that have two of the socialists 'representing' them. I voted with my feet and now hang my hat in Florida. BTW, the Conservatives down here do know how to vote!

As does Florida.
God, I wish we could toss that creep out, but it looks like one of the few dims elected in Florida (and you have to look to find any) is here to stay.
