My wife works at Walmart and is treated very well. There are opportunities for advancement, a good choice of health insurance, 401K, stock etc. These are benefits that the local mom and pop stores downtown never could offer. Walmart is the retail version of the New York Yankees. The Yankees are the premier baseball franchise. People either hate them or love them.
Unions are also dying out being they make us uncompetitive in the world.
WalMart is like a big last gasp attempt by them for their very survival.
IMO, we need to dissolve the teacher's union and unions in government. OR simply insist that the average of pay and benefits in government with or without unions is no more than equal to the average in the private sector.
We do that, and the government payroll saves at least 45% IMO.
My wife works there too and has taken advantage of advancement offers and there are many for those willing to apply themselves.
