With the Sharpton types, perceptions trump reality. They slide by as if what they are saying is true.
They just have no shame, they do what they want, pretend it didn't happen, lie, and move on like it's just another day.
They skip over a few steps of recovery - they skip grief and go right to denial & bargaining. A day later, they are angry (at the "false" charge") but they skip depression (often by taking drugs). They skip guilt, because they have no shame - and then get right back to hope.
