As a viet vet who did two tours, I'm getting tired of this we never welcomed them home crap. When I came back in 69, I was treated with respect and dignity by everyone I met. The only problem I had was going into a neighborhood bar in uniform, people would not stop buying me drinks. This I was spat upon when I came home is just more playing victim crap.
You were obviously the exception due to your charm and good humor.
