The child molestation case against Michael Jackson went to the jury Friday after the defense begged the panel to acquit the singer, portraying Jackson as a victim of grifters trying to pull "the biggest con of their careers."
"They are trying to profit from Michael Jackson. They think they have pulled it off. They are just waiting for one thing your verdict."
Prosecutors painted a vastly different picture one of Jackson as a serial child molester and his Neverland Ranch as a predator's lair.
"Why would Mr. Jackson do it?" Senior Deputy District Attorney Ron Zonen said. "Because he could. ... This child was in love with him. This child would do anything he said."
Zonen reminded jurors of past allegations from other boys against Jackson and said such testimony was necessary "to see the total picture."
Zonen alleged that Jackson had been "in love" with a boy who received a large monetary settlement from him in 1993. He said testimony about Jackson sleeping in bed with other boys could not be easily explained, and he added that the current accuser is a "clone" of the boy in the 1993 case.
On Thursday, Zonen ridiculed the idea the boy's mother could have made up the entire molestation story and prompted her children to lie in order to make money with a future lawsuit against Jackson.
"It's unmitigated rubbish," he said.
He could face several years in prison if convicted of all charges.

NOW that's a really disturbing photo.Where do they buy the noses.I'd be getting bids from other suppliers.
He gets convicted of giving "jesus juice" to a minor. Skates on the rest.
But if convicted enough to get prison time, he will spend most of it in the infirmary, or isolated from the rest of the inmates.
Suicide? Nahhhh, he goes to the doctor for every little pain and he's too much of a coward to try to kill himself.

If Michael does go to jail, can anybody speculate how long it will take to "punk" him out?
I took Xanax for a while and I think it is only likely to affect your driving the first time you take it. After that I never noticed any effect at all.
14.251 seconds.
I agree. Conviction on the alcohol charge but acquittal or hung jury on the molestation charge. He'll get probation with some kind of an order to stay away from kids. He will be in and out of court for years over custody of his own kids. His children will grow to hate him and they will come out with their own "tell all" books when Dad cuts their allowance off. One day they will find MJ dead in a hotel room of "undetermined" causes.
I was wondering that myself. The one impression I got of this whole trial is that MJ lives in a psychotic fantasy world, and because of his money the people around him entertain that fantasy and, to a certain extent, join in themselves. He has his own private cult, so there'd be very few of his sycophants that wouldn't help him get out of prison time. I really wouldn't be surprised if he popped up on Brazilian TV denouncing the US as a police state.
OMG! The nose looks like putty and the cleft in his chin looks like makeup. And that clown lipstick! That's one of the worst pictures I've ever seen of Jackson, and that is saying something.
What if jacko hired one of his impersonators to do the time for him?
I believe he's been fingerprinted, but are fingerprints rechecked after sentencing?
I couldn't drive "without" it.
same here... they are "suers," just like that lady with the thumb at Wendy's...
Oooh, I like the way you think, but, yes, they're fingerprinted again.
