God bless Rush for doing his part; it's his job to keep the base perpetually edgy. Without that fire from people like Rush, the establishment R's in Washington would happily go back to the good ol' days of collegiality and submissiveness.

However...I think in all honesty we're entitled to a little giddiness. We're getting our judges through. And in so doing, we are tilting the balance of power in the federal judiciary in our favor for the first time in decades.

I wonder if Ike felt the same way when he got Earl Warren confirmed?

Three judges, below the Supreme Court, do not a tilt make. What the DemocRats got was the ability to continue to block any more contrustionalist judges, and most importantly any Supreme Court Justice that can and would actually read and apply the Constitution as written.

I just hope no second amendment case goes to the Supreme Court anytime soon. I had hoped for one to go sometime after Bush appoints a couple of strict contructionalists to the court. But now? Fugitaboutit.

I agree. The battle for each inch of turf is intense now. Any victory now is precious and more important than most realize. We don't hear the Dims crowing about their strategy; it hurts to have these three in.
