HINESBURG, Vt. Champlain Valley Union High School just graduated its last Crusaders, with the School Board set to pick a new name for the school's teams by fall.
Redhawks, Bobcats and Red Wolves are all vying for the honor of having the school in Hinesburg name its teams for them.
There continues to be debate in the five Chittenden County towns served by the school on whether the name needs to be changed.
Some argue that the name Crusaders is an important school tradition. Others see it as a symbol of religious oppression.

This happened in Vermont?
Wow, normally Minnesota likes to beat other states to the punch on stuff like this.
Well, I suppose I should be productive and come up with a name.
How 'bout the Fighting Whities?

What's wrong with naming the football team after a jazz band?

The City of Coachella's high school hosts the Arabs.
I don't think they'll have to change, though, because there's nary an Arab in Coachella.

Crusaders?
I guess the P.C. Crusade is okay though. It's past time we tell the sensitive twits among us, to sit down and shut the ---- up.

Oppression. Amazing how false history is so often taken as established truth. Never mind small facts, such as that in the 11th century the majority of the people in the Levant were still Christian but under Muslim rule.
