Authorities serve warrants at dozens of O.C. homes today as part of a two-year drug investigation.

Local police departments and federal agents raided dozens of Orange County homes this morning, rounding up alleged Santa Ana street-gang members suspected of participating in an ongoing drug-trafficking operation.

The coordinated raids began at 6 a.m. when agents armed with federal arrest warrants swarmed several homes. One suspected gang member was arrested at a home in the 500 block of South Daisy Avenue by a Santa Ana police SWAT team. Another was arrested a few blocks away in the 500 block of South Hesperian Street.

The raids came after a two-year investigation that allegedly links local street-gang drug trafficking to the Mexican Mafia, a gang that began among inmates in California's prison system.
