Daily Show-Comedy Central- Kenneth Timmerman

Incredible dialgue on Daily Show

TOPICS: Foreign Affairs; News/Current Events
KEYWORDS: dailyshow; iran; kenneth; kennethrtimmerman; timmerman
I have not found a link to this anywhere. There was a Journalist named Kenneth Timmerman on the Daily Show on June 16th that was profound. He has a book called Countdown To Crisis that is about the current state of affiars in Iran. He claimed a direct link between Iran and 911. in Stewarts questioning, Stewart couched his Question with "Isn't what we are doing in Iraq fueling the pro-democracy's movement in the middle east with a desire to have the respect of organization's like Hezbollah??" (something to that effect). Timmerman claimed, "Quite the contrary" at which point Stewart very humorously claimed "And I do want to point out to the Audience that YOU are the expert on this"... Timmerman went on to claim, "In a recent poll, 75% of the people of Iran stated that they believe that the US Military in Iraq will hasten reform and democracy in Iran!!"

I have not heard this anywhere else, and it is ironic that it came from the Daily show which I watch almost daily...

Please let me know what else you know about Timmerman or this subject...

Timmerman's The French Betrayal of America is fantastic- a history of French duplicity with America- shocking in its depth. The guy does his homework.

There's a sizable portion of population of Iran that want to throw off the Mullah rule.

The last time the country of Iran had a revolution to change their government (late 70s), Their neighbor, Saddam's Iraq perceived this change in political system a s a weakness and attacked.

If the same thing happens today, the proud people of the glorious country rise up to change their government by peaceful means, WE, the US and our allies have their eastern flank covered (US and allied troops in Afghanistan), and we have their western flank covered(US and allied troops in Iraq).

If there is a time for a change in the government of Iran that time is NOW, RIGHT NOW, when they can not and will not have their borders purged as a result.

Don't worry.

His 15 minuits are about out.

He is a "flavor of the month" type, I've seen his type come and go, and he is about at the end right now.

Look for him to "move on" to other things some time around next year.

Who can forget Jon Stewart's immortal singing and dancing performance in "Elmopalooza!" He makes Mark Madsen look like Usher.

Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), has pledged that if elected he will abandon the president's war on terror, begin a dialogue with terrorist regimes and apologize for three-and-one-half years of mistakes by the Bush administration.

I read and enjoyed Timmerman's "Shakedown". Several reviews of the book on amazon.com give it great praise, one saying:
"As a Black conservative, I realized long ago that the only color Jesse Jackson cares about is green, the only god he serves is the all mighty dollar and the only church he represents is the cult of Jesse."

I ask this, Hootch. Is Kenneth Timmerman telling the truth about these "links to Al Queda", and such things as the poll about how Iran's people like American culture? My answer is, "I do not know". The thing is, I have a problem putting faith in a guy that can ultimately be serving the American people bull. Don't you think it is possible that our God-loving party could be using Timmerman as a means to apprehend the citizen's faith in regards to the possibility of Iran being the evil-doers like Iraq. Just about all Democrats do not find any credibility in the Bush Administration, and some Republicans are leaning toward that mentality as well, considering Bush's latest poll stats. Having said that, would it not be so far-fetched to wonder if the GOP might consider using some other form of persuasion other than the Bush administration? For example, people like Timmerman who do not necessarily claim to be Pro-Bush or Anti-Democrat, but who in fact probably are. Having an "unaffiliated" spokesperson, especially one who considers himself as the "go-to" guy for Iran intelligence, can bring plausibilty to wanting another invasion or evil doer. My point is, being in this era of bipartisanship, does it not seem reasonable to step out of the red and blue box in order to see a clearer picture of what and where TRUTH is?

Stewart is a master at propaganda. The other day I watched and showed doctored Clips from 2003 of Rumsfeld and Cheney saying that the War in Iraq would only last for "weeks" or months and then played recent clips of both saying we may be in Iraq for years.

Disgusting.
